If you thought birther conspiracy theorists went the way of Donald Trump's presidential hopes, think again.

Joseph Farah--who runs the World Net Daily website and a related book imprint--and Jerome Corsi, author of "Where's the Birth Certificate? The Case That Barack Hussein Obama Is Not Eligible to Be President," held a press conference in Washington, D.C., yesterday to announce that they have filed a lawsuit against Esquire magazine and its owner, Hearst, over an satirical article by Mark Warren published last month.

Only in America can proven liars like Corsi and Farah sue for hundreds of millions of dollars because they think a satire makes them look bad by pointing out that they were caught lying.

I want the mother ship to come and get them. NOW.

I have never been a birther and think the name is uncalled for but I would like to see a real copy of a real Birth Certificate.

Obama did that you say. At the time he pulled the freshly printed phony one I wondered out loud on this Forum id the ink was dry. Then I saw a video of Alex Jones in which an expert shows Obama was showing us a phony.

Before youiclude my name to the Birther hall of Fame watch the Video, it's so simple to follow even a Liberal should be able to understand what is being said.

Speaking as a lawyer, my only issue with this nonsense is that clearly there are some members of my profession who are greedy enough to take birther money at the expense of their own ethical obligations. Shame on them.

Funny how the only conservative to post so far defends the birthers and not attack them for attacking free speech..........

I'm stunned that people would double-down on appearing unhinged.

Ummm, if they proved anything, they proved the scanned image is not an original document. Duh. It's not an original document, it's a scanned image.

It's ridiculous that people jump so quickly to law suits. It's satire, get over it.

I was pretty sure satire was protected. I don't see this case getting very far.

They had to find a deep pocket to recoup their losses, though I'm sure, somehow, the book will still find an audience.:mrgreen:

I tried to read Cori's book "Obamination" and got like, three paragraphs in. He writes like a 7th grader, or like Stephanie Meyer, even. Repetitive, switches perspective, never quite closes out a point....

Some people should either hire ghost writers or not write at all.

*patiently awaits my court summons*

I like your description! I've read a few of his articles on WND, they were a slog.

I've read young-adult fiction that was better structured than Corsi's stuff. It's hard to take him seriously because of it.

Well they need to make money somehow. It sure wasn't going to be from book sales after Obama completely deflated their opportunity by releasing his long form certificate (which he was holding in his back pocket for 3 years now).

I really try to avoid the birth certificate thing.

Most do .... especially these days.

i think the entire issue was a waste of time and money and could have been halted almost immediately by release of the long-form. I think the birthers are idiots and I think Obama under-estimated their idiocy and should have halted it sooner than he did. I get not pandering to fools, I get political expediency, but perhaps people would have focused more on real issues if they had been quieted sooner.

They happily call themselves birthers. As for the "real copy of a real birth certificate". It has been provided...TWICE.

Lol... "freshly printed phony one". That response was predicted even before Obama produced the COLB. He knows that no matter what he produces, birthers will still claim that it wasn't enough of that it's fake. Obama produced the lfbc because it was an opportune moment to drive a stake through birtherism AND smack a few birthers around.

We've all heard the birthers' "experts'" opinion on the document. The artifacts discussed aren't "artifacts" of alteration but attributes that are associated with scanning a document into Adobe. Sorry, but the only people who are technologically illiterate and who won't be convinced regardless of the proof given lend any validity to the birther 2.0 tripe (also known as after-birtherism).
