Rush Limbaugh launches his own brand of (patriotic) iced tea

Holy **** why do any of you people care? Just let this fat mother****er sell his goddamn tea.
Hey John, why don't you tell us how you really feel?

That was Newman's model, but doesn't have to serve everyone.

Well, then it's obvious that he's doing it for profit. It is still tacky. The fact that he's basically wrapping himself up in the American flag makes it even more so.

Not stupid and childish, especially when you have Rush haters. Just a little fun. You know what that is dontcha?

It's not Rush specifically that is the problem. It's people like him on both the left and the right. It's sensationalism and I'm not a fan.

You bet it is. Where do you think the money comes to pay for him? And the people syndicating his show make a good chunk too. His show has a huge nationwide audience, some 600 to 700 stations, there is what, some 30-minutes of ads per show. That's 18,000 to 21,000 advertising minutes per show... per day, 250-days per year. Cha-ching. If they charged a $100 a minute, they'd make 450 million annually. You know his ad space goes for more than $100/min.

I appreciate your brief rundown of his financial situation. Am I supposed to care?

No... that he has one and it seems to have launched successfully.

Oh, that's supposed to make me jealous? Well, I hate to disappoint you, but I'm not. I really couldn't give a ****. I think it's both funny and tacky, but I can assure you I'm not outraged.

You start OK, then default to the patriotic bit. He hasn't sold it as patriotic, as you admitted at the start of this paragraph, and he doesn't need to start a venture to prove he's patriotic. A couple decades behind a mic has clearly proven he is.

Selling sensationalism and being shocking and outrageous are not patriotic. They are indicative of having business smarts. That's pretty much it.

How do you know the tea is ****ty? What if it succeeds famously due to its quality? He knows Leftists will be loathe to buy it, but he has a captive audience, and polarization helps with a successful product launch. To be continuously successful, the product need to move people to buy a second, 3rd... and 10th time
.

Just out of curiosity, but would you be saying all of these things if Keith Olbermann was marketing a tea like this?

Do you find Warren Buffett tacky too? He promotes Sees Candy, DQ, Geico, Nebraska Furiture Mart and Borsheims not all the time but often. What is the difference between Buffett and Limbaugh? Both own ventures that seek to make money, and both promote said ventures.

I find a lot of advertising and marketing to be tacky.

Hey John, why don't you tell us how you really feel?

Seriously though why does something about tea have to go on for 8 pages. I swear to God we get more opinions on dumb things like this (gay marriage, the muslim boogie men, Glen Beck, Fox News, Jon Stewart, Why Obama is a muslim boogie man) than we do on actual real issues like the economy and how to figure it out. Maybe if someone posted what the cast of Jersey Shore thought about the economy we would get more interest in it? Maybe if someone promised to post tits at the end of every page?

True. We're much like Congress in that regard.

You mean his staff wouldn't take him seriously on serious issues... like a couple Leftists presidents have? Both Obama and Clinton tried to neutralize Rush, others tried too... attempting to make him the unofficial leader of the Republicans in Congress. It backfires every time it has been tried. In fact, they help focus attention on him, them and the issue at hand.

Obama tried to neutralize Rush right out of the box, and paid dearly for bringing Rush to the forefront. I was Rush who was 1000-miles ahead of the curve, by stating, "I hope he fails".

My bet is none. You don't go to work year after year to be repulsed daily.

Some of it is schitck, and targets thin skinned Leftists, so they become further unglued.

The most successful radio show for 20+ years isn't built on repulsive behavior. Perhaps to hard core Leftists.

He has a healthy ego, but a good portion of the ego-spiel is designed specifically to tweak Leftists.

He's known to go up and down with weight. Sometimes he's thinner, sometimes heavier.

If you'd listen to his show you'd realize he goes on diets.

People go to work everyday to get paid. She makes a lot of money... I know a lot of people who go to work everyday for a paycheck but find some aspects of their job repulsive.

I've heard Snooki is anti-Keynesian, but doesn't completely buy the Austrian school, while The Situation used to be a supply-sider, but has changed his views since the Great Recession began.

You do realize that filipinos are not a violation of flag code, right?

If the flag is being burned in order to dispose of it when damaged, it is not a violation of flag code. If it is being burned in protest, it is. What Rush is doing is also a violation of flag code.

As far as wrong or right n th emoral sense, I don't really care one way or the other. They are both violations of flag code, though.

Bully for you.

The British tend to promote a lot of tea time when you're under the weather. It usually makes me feel better..

His ego is the only thing bigger than his waistline. I imagine that the guy is so self indulgent and absorbed that he doesn't have the control to stop gorging himself on food.

Man, that Oxycontin junkie will do and say anything to get in the lime-light.

Yeah...the truth hurts dittoheads. Their hero is a junkie who is dwindling

I hear Palin was importing the wolf meat from the USSR. Something about starving the bears and Reagan ringing a bell.

Rush might consider "Mushroom Tea". That would be more keeping with his history.

he is really out of shape and he probably pigs out every chance he gets, because that's his personality type... selfish and self adsorbed.

See?? If it weren't for the drugs.. That mistake might not have happened.. It doesn't take much brain power to fill a pick order.. But when your stoned?? Who knows what your going to get.. Well.. You do.. Diet tea is what you get..

Just a sampling of how the left hate people who use character assassination -chuckles- for hating it .. they do seem to be pretty good at it ..

Why didn't you show whose quote it was?

We have 318 posts now because some people have a problem with Rush Limbaugh selling tea.

Can you taste the patriotism?

Blind taste test is called for.

Funny he didn't name it Mount Rushmore Tea. I mean, if he can get away with the flag bit, surely he can get away with the national monument bit.

I do not buy it for patriotism.

No, it's just the bestest tea - ever! I bet one could pour it in their hog and it would fly.

And at least that'd be punny.
