Burn Vancouver Burn!!! [2011 Stanley Cup Riot]

Like that is what I don't get. It happened before in 94 as the guy in the video said, who is a stand up guy for doing what he did. Why weren't the police more aware and active that something like this might happen again?

Just heard on the car radio that the the city police, the province, and whatever police and politiciansyou have in this country are going to come down hard on these jerks. Some of them even posted their pictures on Facebook, bragging of what they've done. That's how stupid they are.

There'll be jail time as they've embarrassed the city, the province and the country. And they'll be doing rough time for sure.

Here is another video of guys trying to protect a truck from the mob.
If this doesn't make your blood boil. Why didn't some of the people put down their cameras and help the guy out.
I would love to have kicked my boot up some of the punks who jumped on the bald guy when he was down. Punks.

Definitely the 'Mob' mentality has taken over, all rational forms of behaviour go out the window. The guy taking the beating fortunately came out pretty much unscathed.

On the other hand, that one person couldn't have stopped it, but there is plenty of video evidence to help police and volunteers find out who did this...

As I said in another thread...

The media continuously talking about the 1994 riot + closing liquor stores at 4pm thus ensuring everyone is drunk early + not enough police preparation and numbers + unaddressed social and economic inequities in the city + full moon eclipse in Gemini (the sign of self-expression) = hello riot.

A lot of people showed up the next day to clean up the city. There were many volunteers. Of course, the media didn't talk about that.

I am just as peeved at the media right now as I am at the rioters. The full scope of what happened and what is happening in the aftermath is not being represented. I am also annoyed by how many bystanders there were who did nothing but take pictures. No one stepped in to help those being beaten up, and the few that did got their butts kicked while everyone else watched.

I was surprized there weren't more Canadiens to jump in on that guy's defense. Here in the US I would expect that kind of non response.
I have jumped in to defend a stranger before from 3 guys. Nobody else helped but they sure wanted to watch from a safe distance.

I have always told my two sons if you ever get in a fight in public don't expect anyone to help you out. You are on your own so fight like your life depends on it.

Well all I got to say is, our retarded football and basketball fans don't got **** on other countries retarded hockey and soccer fans. That said I have been to Vancouver a few times in the areas that these riots took place too actually and it is the most beautiful, cleanest city I have ever been to in my life. Not only that the people are (usually) so damn nice it is scary. They all say "eh", "buddy", and "aboot" a lot and they are fantastic people.

And they wanna take away my team, and give it to Canada. I think they've demonstrated they aren't responsible enough for a hockey team.

And this is the SECOND time your city has lost a team to Canada...

And both times it was due to NHL corruption, and bad ownership. If we didn't have bad luck, we'd have no luck at all.

We have slums in Vancouver too. Every major city has them.

the question was do all cities in Canada build a wall to hide the slums whenever there is a major event or is just a Vancouver thing.

The slums in Vancouver aren't that interesting when there are so many beautiful places to see. Unless someone id doing a documentary there is very little point.

So for the record the top three scumbag fan sports cities are

1. LA (for putting a man in a coma)
2. Vancouver (riots)
3. Philly (just cause and black panthers)

i just think its funny because they are so liberal but feel ashamed of a part of there "clean city"..so they build a wall and pretend it dont exist

Bruins fans would agree that Philly deserves to be on this list... their fans are among the worst in the NHL...

There the worst in sports period, only LA beats them because of what they did to that Giants fan.

Don't have much experience with them in baseball or football as Philly is in the other league... definately been bad blood in the past in basketball, but nothing like hockey... Of course, there was a strong rivalry between the two teams in the 70s...
