Two gay men forced to leave a government recreational facility in Hazard, KY

Hazard, KY -- Kentucky Equality Federation today condemned The Pavilion for ejecting two gay males from their facility. A maintenance technician told the couple and the group present "we own this place and can tell you to leave if we want to."

No, asshole. You DON'T own this place. The taxpayers of Hazard, Kentucky, which include the 2 gay men, do.

What makes this worse is that the man said he could tell them to leave because it says so in the Bible. Really? Can somebody show me where in the Bible it says that gay people are to be kicked out of government-run swimming pools? Oh, wait. I found the passage.

These two needed to be removed because they were being overly affectionate and rules are now going up that will cover anyone that engages in such behaviour. Gay or Straight, and that's as it should be.

This is the lie that bigots always use in these types of situations. Reminds me of the two gay men that were kicked out of a public square in SLC, Utah for holding hands.

wow - I'm more so taken by the fact that these two were developmentally disabled and even required *support staff* to engaged in any sort of activity outside the home.

Not only was this an irreprehensible act by the staff, it was humiliating to these young men and their direct support staff. Both men are clients of Mending Hearts, Inc. which provides support for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

Funny, The City of Hazard disagrees with you. Their investigation found that the employee and his manager acted inappropriately. The employee was suspended for a week without pay. But I guess you know more than the city since you were there and actually saw them acting over affectionate, right?

Where are you getting the employee's first name from?

The only name I seen in that article of an employee, was the worker for the center that had responsibility for the guys, not a name for the pool employee, and she said that the pool employee was a man several times in her statement.

Maybe you should have read further into the letter issued. It specifically says that the employee is Mr. Kim Haynes. Kim can be a name for a man. And it indicates that the employee is definitely a man.
