Herman Cain mistake on the Constitution.

Well here, on planet Earth, Jesse Jackson actually ran for president whereas Colin Powell did not. Who knows what distant galaxy you hail from where that makes Powell more viable than Jackson.

Apparently, he does according to some Conservatives, many of whom refer to him as the Messiah.

Please ! Take your "Messiah". Take your Jesse Jackson. You can have Al Sharpton too ! Go to that Galaxy far far away !!! Pleeeeeeze ! Enough of this "We got more blacks than you" !!!

As Charley Brown would say ...... "Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrggggggghhhhhh" :)

The Republican Party is light years from ever nominating a black person to be their presidental candidate. They are like the Mormon church of the 50's.

As they admit, the closest they ever came was Colin Powell .... a black man with no ambitions of running for president. :lamo

For all you liberals, when we do finally nominate a black man for President, we will be sure he is someone's "Uncle Tom".

Wouldn't want y'all to soil yourselves.

And conservatives can start playing the "Uncle Tom" card! Aren't you excited?

Actually, the right to life, liberty, and property is in another document called the Declaration of Colonial Rights, which was a resolution passed by the first Continental Congress, although the 5th and 14th Amendments to the Constitution do say that one cannot be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process.

So guess what? You guys bashing each other over this point are both right. LOL.

Wait a minute, now, danarhea. If you take this position - ruling on a technicality - then Herman Cain's statement meets the equivalent of Sarah Palin's Paul Revere commentary. She merged historical events; he confused the wording of the Constitution w/the Declaration of Independence.

Same difference...?...you tell me???

Conservatives aren't racists, like Liberals are. We actually appreciate a minority person who thinks for himself and doesn't blindly follow the party line.

If this has been discussed before, I apologize. But recently I heard Herman Cain a Conservative running for President state that "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." was in the Constitution. Before saying that we don't need to re write the Constitution. But we need to re-read the Constitution. The irony here is that Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is from the Declaration of Independence. Maybe he should READ the Constitution.

Also Cain went on the Glen Beck show and said he would be reluctant to appoint a Muslim to a position of power. Once again Cain shows his lack of knowledge on the Constitution. Because in Article IV, Clause 3 it says "no religion test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States."

I really wish some Republicans would actually read the darn thing before they try to act all patriotic.

I just wish elected Democrats would follow the Constitution.

Yeah, just let us know when that happens. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

You mean a RINO?

I just watched the first video because I'm in a hotel and the connection is so slow. But the video is completely off base.

First, Cain isn't talking about a religious test (though he is in the wrong). He is talking about a test of loyalty for those of a specific religion. There is a difference. What the Constitution says is that you shouldn't have to take a test to prove you are Catholic to be in the government. Cain is suggesting that all Muslims should prove they won't bomb the country before they serve in the government. Cain is wrong in that we should discriminate against Muslims. If there is a legitimate concern that a terrorist will make it into a position of strength in the government, then all people should be administered the same test....whatever that may be.

Second, they took Can's speech way out of context. I watched it live on the internet, it is from his announcement speech. He was talking about the founding documents, the Constitutiona and the Decleration of Independence and he was jumping between the two. They cut and paste that to appear to be what it was not.

That was a very weak video. The only one the video got right was Boehner total f'up in his speech.

IOW, he's right and you can't stand it.

Right about what?
And why wouldnt I be able to stand it? LOL
Youre pretty presumptuous aren't you. Do you just make this up as you go?

Didnt say I dont like any of those guys I listen daily, didnt say I dont like him, he'll just never be president, nor should he be.

As a shock jock he is great! as a politician he would be everything that is wrong with politics unless of course he would be 180 degrees different which so far hasnt been the case..

How in the heck are you going to get someone prove they won't bomb the country? Well, I guess we all know a terrorist will bomb and kill innocents but never, never lie.
Cain is beginning to sound like a male Sara Palin.

Are you insinuating that the only blacks who think for themselves are black conservatives?

Not at all. What I am saying, is that all black Conservatives think for themselves. Blacks who are openly Conservative have to contend with being called race traitors and Uncle Toms and racists. They decide to be Conservative, despite those things, which makes it obvious that they are making a concious decison, on their own, to be Conservatives.

Then you are saying that a black person can't decide for him or herself to affiliate with another political party because they believe no other political group fits his/her political or moral beliefs. That's total BS, apdst.

I'm no more a Moderal-Liberal because I expect a government handout anymore than I would be a Conservative because I expect to receive substaintial tax breaks. I affiliate with a specific political party because their belief system fits into my social and moral views, not because I've been brainwashed one way or another. I suspect that's how most people associate themselves with any political party....until you actually get into Congress that is.

Well ain't that just peachy. Its also not relevent. Without a doubt, the most unanimous ethnic voting block of any consequence in the USA are blacks voting Democrat. Almost always averaging over 90%. What is so different about their "social and moral views" (your words, and which you "suspect that's how most people associate themselves" ....) that causes blacks to vote many times more lock-step than any other ethnic group ?
