Well, a two second "Yeaaaaahhhh!!!!" kept Howard Dean out of the White House.
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3570845.stm

    Friday, 26 March, 2004,
US President George W Bush has sparked a political row by making a joke about the failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

At a black-tie dinner for journalists, Mr Bush narrated a slide show poking fun at himself and other members of his administration.

One pictured Mr Bush looking under a piece of furniture in the Oval Office, at which the president remarked: "Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be here somewhere."

After another one, showing him scouring the corner of a room, Mr Bush said: "No, no weapons over there," he said.

And as a third picture, thistime showing him leaning over, appeared on the screen the president was heard to say: "Maybe under here?"
Obviously one can make jokes about a war that got thousands of soldiers killed and still be elected, but if one dares to say they screwed up on legislation:

I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality. - MLK

How soon we forget, great retort.

    To paraphrase Otter...

'Look, Liberals...you can't spend your whole life worrying about your mistakes! You ****ed up... you trusted him! Hey, make the best of it! Maybe we can help.'

not an invalid point. Althought I'm sure our more liberal friends here will strongly disagree.

Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

Re: Obama now joking about his own giant economic failures

When you start with the preconceived idea that liberals/democrats want to control everything, are lying to you, are elitist, want government to do everything, etc, you're going to interpret everything you see in that light. Since your interpretation of events is slanted towards this notion, you perceive events to agree with that notion. The more events that appear to agree with that notion, the stronger the notion becomes.

Hence, "That didn't work how I thought it would" becomes "Muahahaha, I lied to you and you all fell for it, stupid peasants!"

The war cry was just the needed excuse. Actually I think Dean got a bad rap for this...it was just a poorly executed pep rally.
