No they will raise rates. It is like a tax and it will hurt the middle class the poor and the unemployed the worst. Thank you Obama for doing this in such good economic times

Have you looked into how much space a coal plant requires?

Read my links and the acres enough turbines would take to replace a coal plant would be much more. The truth is wind turbines will never replace power plants because they are unreliable and to inefficient

want to reduce human costs in mining? let them start carving off the tops of mountain tops instead of digging down so far.

    Coal sucks.
Thank you for your honesty, “coal sucks”. This is precisely why I think warmers want to talk about warming instead of real pollution, once you decide global warming is manmade you are able to avoid real issues, real pollution that has real solutions. You can burn fossil fuels cleanly and minimize if not eliminate real pollution but if your mindset is “coal sucks” and you want it stopped period then you go to global warming propaganda. That’s the only argument you can make that would have the result of not burning fossil fuels at all as opposed to burning them clean and efficient.

Regarding the closing - we had an opportunity to implement a market-based approach to emissions control. This type of system was first implemented by President Reagan and it outperformed the expected costs of the "command and control" proposal from the Democrats significantly. The same type of system came up under the Obama administration, and the Republicans (and some Democrats) voted against it.

GOP shot down the market-based solution, so the EPA gave us the command and control approach because they are legally required to tackle this.

    Simply not true.

No, I mean when you have a residential area near or down wind from a power plant people are more likely to develop lung problems and other health problems.

That has other problems such as poisoning water supplies. And its states that don't allow for that type of mining.

I give proof and you deny it without showing why it is wrong. Great credibility there
