Perfect. I will cancel out someone else's vote. Please graciously thank your wife for her uncommon sense in this matter. I shall assume she displayed the same uncommon sense in marrying you. Perhaps there is still hope for you.

It's not an opinion. Your statement is a lie. You cannot show it to be true and you know you cannot show it to be true, Thus, lie.

Changes to marginal income tax rates don't affect revenue all that much. They have ranged from 28 to 90% of GDP since WWII, and revenue as percentage of GDP hasn't varied that much. This is because the rich either get most of their money from capital gains, which have their own tax, or they are wealthy enough to pay accountants who can employ all sorts of tricks to lower their employer's tax payment. Any attempts raise more revenue must include a simplification of the tax code.

Personally, I would prefer that the brunt of deficit reduction be borne by spending cuts, as I disagree that government spending has more of a stimulative affect than most tax cuts. However, as likely or unlikely that it is that Washington is going to actually get serious about the deficit any time soon, I think that it's even less likely that they would cut spending enough to close the gap by itself. In this case, I do support some tax increases in the near future, as long the tax code is simplified

I agree with you drunken. The actual tax code needs to be simplified, and the loopholes allowing corporations to pay less money along with 47% paying no income tax need to go. That will increase revenue. Adding 4.6% to the highest tax bracket isn't going to fix the problem.

It would help if we could shut down a war or two.
