No one is talking about "making it illegal." There has been some talk, back in the days when we had the luxury of not worrying about going freaking bankrupt, about maybe putting a few restrictions on it - met by libs and fembots with conniptions.

My point is that politicians from those days, who claimed "personal opposition" but pledged to do absolutely nothing about it, were chickent****s. And dem candidates like Bill were prime examples.

I still say that if we can talk about Rev. Wright, then it's fair to talk about Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. Romney does control whether or not he's still a Moron.
In what sermon did Joseph Smith call down damnation on America?

Not really, being that one can be a Mormon while not taking a fundamentalist view of the religion

You have not been paying attention to the string of state laws that have been passed this year about abortion.

Plenty states are trying to get as close as possible to outlawing it (they can't out right make it illegal).

New abortion restrictions possible in several states | Reuters

Among the more than 200 bills being proposed this year are an Ohio measure that would ban abortions once a heartbeat can be detected -- as early as 18 days for some women.
As soon as a women notices she missed her period

But most are like the quote below

In several states, including Ohio, Florida, Kansas and Kentucky, measures were introduced banning abortion after 20 weeks. These mimic a Nebraska law which bans abortion after a fetus is deemed capable of feeling pain.

Thanks for the link. You're right. I hadn't been paying attention, aside from the Texas stuff.

I do find this very encouraging:

"We're very worried," said Donna Crane, policy director for NARAL Pro-Choice America. Crane said that because anti-abortion forces have more votes, "the flood gates are open."

What is wrong with outlawing the murder of an unborn child when the heartbeat confirms that it is actually a living human being?

Because it essentially makes abortion illegal, which the SCOTUS has said is unconstitutional. But my qualms with making abortion illegal entirely is not with the arguments behind them, its with the supporters being completely unwilling to have any government program in place to help those children. The same people who are anti-abortion are anti-government "hand-outs" and would let the child starve.

If you are going to want to make abortion illegal, you should be willing to pay for the associated social cost.

I agree, anyone involved with a movement make abortion illegal should have a comprehensive, practical plan for dealing with the consequences.
