You don't hear that now. When he was running the right feared that he would be taking orders from the Catholic church.

I've heard that said, but I wasn't there. I'm not even sure that in 1960 there was "the right" as we know it now. Birchers, yes, but they were dispatched of rather easily by William F. Buckley not long after.

Wouldn't the left feel more uncomfortable with a POTUS being catholic today? Asking rhetorically.

The left is comfortable with other lefties, no matter what their religion is. A person can be pro-choice and anti-abortion and the left would be fine with it.

Is there an anti-abortion leftist in an influential office?

AFAIK the Clintons are personally against abortion, they just don't think making it illegal is the proper method for dealing with it.

Its not chicken ****, its the proper position to have. Making it illegal isn't going to make it go away, see the years leading up to Roe. Making it illegal is going to increase social cost.

What makes it chicken**** is saying, "I'm personally opposed to it, but I won't do jack about it, since it's, you know, the 'law of the land' and all. Oh well." Then shrugging.

Making illegal doesn't do anything either. If you want to stop abortion, find someone who is thinking about doing it and do everything you can to convince them it wrong. If its an economic reason, offer to pay for the child and offer your time to help take care of it while the mother works. That's the proper thing to do, thats actually doing something.

Romney has **** all control over who his grandparents are
True. His grandparents are not an issue.

I still say that if we can talk about Rev. Wright, then it's fair to talk about Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. Romney does control whether or not he's still a Moron.
