The state ran boot camps are different than the for profit Christian organizations that brainwash people.

Cross Creek takes people who are sent their by their parents/guardians, not sent their by law enforcement.

So these parents are really just trying - likely struggling - to readjust their kids and set them on the right path before it goe sot the point of them being labeled and sentenced as delinquents.

In some cases yes, in other cases it simply "you can't be gay, you'll go to hell" However, the parents should realize that brainwashing/demoralizing/dehumanizing a person doesn't fix a damn thing.

That depends, and is part of the question raised by this. What behavioral issues are they trying to correct? Can't tell from their own website because it is painfully vague and unclear on the issue. Who handles oversight of places like this? Why so many lawsuits?

While her story may have been exaggerated and concoted in some places, it is doubtless it is true (just look at the wikipedia website about the organization). This organization disgusts me, as well as the people who defend it and work in it

If parents choos to enroll their children there then they shoul be the ones to watch out for any and all activity and raise concerns, etc.

I'm vaguely familiar with these programs; to the best of my knowledge, they tend to focus on substance addiction and anti-social tendencies, and not "de-gaying" teenagers. I don't believe that Cross Creek is more faith-based than a 12-step program.
