You do not have the right to smoke anywhere you wish, you simply do not. It is NOT a Constitutional right to smoke in the presence of everyone else... and thank goodness for bans on smoking in hotels and cabs. I HATE the smell of a hotel room or a cab that someone has smoked in. Downright disgusting...

I once said I would be your biggest cheerleader in your effort to lose weight and get into shape, but you have to give up those ciggies and have a tough break-up with your love Nikki before you honestly can become more healthy and fit...
I don't see anywhere that smoking is prohibited in the constitution.

Like I am frequently told, the constitution doesn't give US rights, it limits the GOVERNMENT'S rights and powers.
"I condemn the ideology of White Supremacy and Nazism. They are thugs, criminals, and repugnant, and are against what I believe to be "The American Way" "
Thus my obligatory condemnation of White supremacy will now be in every post, lest I be accused of supporting it because I didn't mention it specifically every time I post.

But there is nothing to guarantee it either, and the government most certainly DOES have the right to restrict the use of any product, as it so often does...

I went to Coney Island two days ago. For the first time in years the beach was not (completely) littered with cigarettes.

That's because it was still may. Do you really think those russians in coney island are going to stop smoling on the beach?

That hasn't happened since the early 80's. NJ beaches are of the cleanest and finest in this country.

Didn't you learn about exceptions to the rule in school? My point is that ex-smokers now make up a majority of non-smokers, myself included.

I can keep going. but the rarity that it happens leads to folks making assumptions that are not true. I have a house on LBI and I have never seen this "medical waste" on my beach.

so... youre showing me more stories of medical waste washing up on various beaches than i knew about and implying im making assumptions.. even when i showed you a fairly recent article as evidence?(which even mentioned LB)
im not following your line of reasoning, unless youre intent is to show me its more often than i had thought and its not only the beaches of jersey that are victims of industry..
of course.. you could be arguing just to argue..

    back on topic..
again, i see NYC as having greater issues than smokers in wide open spaces.

That's b.s. I hate going to an outdoor show and having some jerkoff in front of me light up.

I like seeing smokers in those glass cages at the airport. It's like weird a hazy zoo for animals committing a slow suicide.

What if they allowed restaurants to apply for a smoking permit? Sell them like liquor permits. I bet the patrons at the smokey places die earlier than the others.

And BTW -- do libertarians support any type of public safety?
