Casey Anthony Trial's Surprise

Maybe they were afraid to be charged with negligent homicide. Her dad was a police detective, and mom is a nurse. There is something screwey here, but what is it? It's a horrible puzzle.

I think it involves sexual abuse from her father and her having a sexual relationship with her brother. Cindy knew all this and looked the other way.

Casey told her dad and brother what happened and they helped her. Later they told Cindy and she of course is trying to keep what alive family she has intact.

I just can't grasp why she didn't report this - especially if it was an 'accidental drowning' like they're trying to claim. *shrug*

Trauma is handled differently by everyone. People have kept the body of their dead infants in closets or carried them around and pretended they were alive for weeks.

One of the most curious questions I'd like to have answered is whether sociopaths are born or made. I believe it's a bit of both. However, if the science shows that it leans one way or the other, could it somehow lessen the degree of culpability and responsibility on the part of the offender?

Its a combination of genetics and environmental triggers, just like most mental disorders.

"Casey Anthony's defense attorney questioned crime scene investigator Gerardo Bloise about why he dried out garbage found in a bag in Anthony's car. The bag is important since defense attorneys say a foul odor in the car came from the garbage, while prosecutors contend the smell was of human decomposition.

"You had no idea it would alter significant items in this case?" defense attorney Jose Baez said during cross-examination. Bloise said he was following protocol, since drying out evidence preserves it and makes it easier to examine."

"Forgey detailed the training his multi-purpose Germen Shepherd, Gerus, received to identify the scent of human remains. Gerus is the K-9 that sniffed out the odor of a decomposing body in the Anthony family's backyard and the trunk of Anthony's car, the station reports."

Where in the back yard did the dog find the odor of a decomposing body? What is the theory of how long Caylee spent in the back yard after she expired? Did Caylee die in the back yard, or in the trunk of the Toyota car?

"Investigators brought a cadaver dog back to the scene around noon Friday to check a spot toward the back of the backyard, in an area where there are some bushes."

http://www.wftv.com/news/16921695/detail.html

"Forgey testified that he first got the call on July 17, 2008, to have Gerus smell Anthony's white Pontiac Sunfire, which was being kept at a police impound lot. As Forgey and Gerus went counterclockwise around the car for "the first pass," Gerus "started indicating," testified Forgey. "I opened the door and he tried to get into the trunk from the back seat."

Forgey and Gerus then went to the back of the vehicle. "Gerus stuck his head in the trunk," Forgey continued. "At that point, I was also overwhelmed by the smell. And then Gerus gave me a trained final alert." According to Forgey, Gerus indicates a "final alert" by sitting down and making eye contact with his handler.

Forgey then took Gerus to the Anthony family home to inspect the backyard. "He gave a trained final alert by the play area," says Forgey. "By the playhouse and sandbox."

Its not a horrible puzzle. Step back and set aside everything Casey Anthony has said, because none of it is true. Start with the disappearance of the daughter, and go from there. Its a common sense thing.

Right now they're showing the photos of the location and remains of Caylee Anthony that were found in the wooded area near the Anthony home...sad stuff.

how anyone could give any credibility to that woman is a mystery. she's clearly a sociopath.

Where and how did Casey Anthony die?

Why was duct tape wrapped around Casey's skull, several layers of tape, completely around her head and hair?

84 computer searches on Casey's computer for Chloroform?

Who was Casey's father?

Fixed. Easy mistake to make.

Casey's behavior after her daughter's death reminds me of Darlie Routier and her silly string fun at the cemetery.

Prosecutors are trying to figure out who murderered Caylee. The incest claims, true or not, are just blowing smoke.

I'd disagree with this and say they're just trying to convince the jury that it was Casey. Nobody else was ever seriously investigated, including the rest of her family/some of the creepos she ran with at various times.

It always boils down to daddy dicked me. Fact is, she murdered her kid because she wanted her face to be buried in some mans ass. She is a natural whore. She'd love prison though. She wouldnt have to work or pay rent and she can lick all the ass she wants.

Really, it's a "fact" that she murdered her daughter? I've yet to see that fact proven. It's a damn good thing you aren't on a jury.

I agree. It seems like a red herring.

I am sure she was sexually abused but does not excuse what she did.

In 100% of the accidental drownings or deaths of children in florida every single one has called 911, why didnt casey. If it was an accident then why was the baby put in her trunk and the evidence clearly shows the baby was in the trunk...the defense has not been able to put enough doubt on that. Why was the baby wrapped and packaged then discarded in the woods.
Casey has told a mulitude of lies, she has never been able to explain why she didnt report her daughter missing...she never did after 31 days her mother did...she has never been able to explain except for lies where she saw her daughter last...she says she gave it to the babysitter which was a lie.
Casey Anthony is quilty unless something of the most extraordinary comes to light...which I doubt....

For those who might be interested, I found an archive of documents, interviews, and case files regarding the case and investigation. Some of the files may be NSFW, fair warning.

Story - WFTV Orlando

This morning a defensive witness testified that DNA found on the sticky side of the duct tape located with Caylee's remains does not belong to Casey, Caylee, or anybody in the Anthony family. DNA also not linked to anybody in within the chain of evidence possession. Interesting...given the defenses explanation of events I would guess they're looking for an insinuation that somebody tampered with Caylee's remains post-mortem.

"Spitz told the jury he believed duct tape on 2-year-old Caylee Anthony's mouth was put on the body after she died, not used as a murder weapon as the prosecution argues."

"Huntington told the Judge he had told Jose Baez that he didn't think there was evidence of a decomposing body in Casey Anthony's car, having looked only of photos, because there was not enough body fluids left in the carpet, adding a "professional cleaner" would have had to clean the car to remove those fluid stains."

"Ashton also demolished the defense expert's theory that the flies in the trunk were attracted to containers full of chewing tobacco spit, and food in the trash and not decomposing Calley's body. Huntington was shown the actual evidence for the first time, instead of photos he had seen, and discovered there actually was no food or spit in the actual trash evidence."

The fact this trial has been turned into a tabloid tacky public spectical by the likes of Nancy Grace, who seriously needs to shut the **** up and various magazines is sickening.

I don't know the facts behind this trial or what's going on, and quite frankly I don't care, but if she's guilty, I'd wanna shoot the son of a bitch on the steps of the courthouse, and if she's innocent people like Nancy Grace should be taken off the air for quite frankly interfering in legal proceedings and the reason I say this is because of the potential of to taint a jurys decision, since theres so few people out there who wouldn't have heard this story in one way or another (and yes I know they're screened beforehand). Not to mention the intense pain such programming causes to the families involved and defamation of character, and we all remember Grace was guilty of it once before.

I have actually never watched Nancy Grace. Having skimmed some of the jail house letters Casey has received, those who do watch Nancy Grace seem to be very similar to the tin-foil hat crowd. I remember when this stort first broke in 2008 and since they released investigative reports and evidentiary documents I've been more than casually interested. A lot of people are steadfast in her guilt and I understand it, but something doesn't seem quite right. Something happened to the baby and Casey knows something about it, I just don't know if I'm convinced she caused intentional harm. Not that it matters what I think, right?

Casey is claiming that she's been sexually abuse by her dad since 8 years old.

I just don't understand why the Defense has not aggressively gone after Casey's dad. He's suppose to be the core reason that Casey has lied about everything.

If I were Casey's attorney, I would be relentless in cornering the dad. I would want the DA to pursue a forensic investigation on the dad...and really Casey's mom, too. I would keep the possibility of a "brutal" form of sexual abuse in the forefront of the Jury's minds as frequently as possible. That is Casey's only way out of this. And it has to be proved beyond a doubt.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Casey, her dad and mom aren't all involved somehow. At least to the point that one is protecting the other...or more than one is being protected. Something's not right in Denmark.

"That is Casey's only way out of this." How about we make sure justice is served? If you're rooting for her, you're in a distinct minority. All the red herrings in the world that are being thrown out by the defense team aren't going to save this little psychopath. If she isn't convicted, it will be a sad day...

Duct tape can kill, regarding an earlier comment.

If she can convince the jury of brutal abuse, how far away is convincing them the father did it? She can claim to have lied both times, out of fear of him.

Is there any evidence of abuse from the father, or brother at all? Other than Anthony lying to save her own skin that is?
