Supreme Court orders California to release tens of thousands of prison inmates

the point is: the fact that the laws are stupid doesn't excuse the fact that retards CHOOSE to break them.

Chances are you've committed a felony at some point in the last year, and might not even realize it.

as I said, if you don't like the law work to change it

Umm I *have* suggested doing as much.

instead of crying like a little bich when you get sent to prison for breaking it.

How about crying like a little bitch when MY tax dollars are wasted on incarcerating people who break retarded laws?

And then your insurance rates go up. GG

they already do. the point is, there is no excuse for stealing aspirin. care to try again?

Do you think that should trigger the 3rd strike rule? And do you realize how hard it is to change a law?

I cry just as loud when my tax dollars are wasted on welfare to support yet another generation of worthless deadbeats.

I guess the distinction between "People who steal aspirin should be punished" and "People who steal aspirin should be locked in a cage for 25 years at taxpayer expense and subjected to daily rapes" is a little too nuanced for you.

That's exactly what you're doing by supporting the incarceration of people who are no threat to society. Actually, it's worse than that, because some of them wouldn't otherwise be worthless deadbeats at all, they'd be productive citizens.

i'd be interested in seeing the statistics on that.

Indeed. Although, I doubt anyone keeps statistics to that extent. However, I don't think you can assume that most three time offenders were three time recidivists.

There are worthless deadbeats on every rung of the socioeconomic ladder. Every one of those deadbeats on the top of the ladder probably receives the equivalent in tax dollars as a thousand on the bottom, and yet we only hear about the bottom.

Other than the government not taking more of what belongs to them, how does this work exactly?

Government regulations which inhibit competition or bailing out corporations and banks that should be allowed to fail. If you bitched half as much about those things as the welfare deadbeats on the bottom of the socioeconimc ladder, then I might take you somewhat seriously.

Oh my, you need to put up or shut up now. Where did I bitch about the welfare deadbeats? Please prove the accusation or retract.

Maybe you should take me a bit more serious?

Oops, got you mixed up with Oscar.

You also need to clarify. There are a lot of people who claim to be libertarian who aren’t so I have no idea what you mean by “Government regulations which inhibit competition or bailing out corporations and banks that should be allowed to fail”.

Want to be clear for me, I’m not the ideologue you seem to think I am so you need to be clear about your positions with me.

There is a solution to this...

Make the inmates fight like semi-gladiators with swords, axes, shields, etc....all those funky weapons in a Colosseum. The wardens (admin) could be the ones to give the thumbs up or thumbs down. Gate fees/ticket sales could go to the state budget

I came back to California to retire in my home State, and now I wish I had stayed in Arizona where there are more sane people,

California could use Bonds currently available to borough the money needed to house these bad guys, or they could take a page out of Sheriff Joe's book and build an huge tent city in the desert.

I would like to see some brains put to work here but them the idiots just put Brown the clown back in Governors office and I see little hope for the State.

I think you need to move back to Arizona to be with the so called "sane" people that you relate better to. Just a suggestion

boo ****ing hoo...just don't be a freakin thief and you've got no worries

Why not just cut off the hands of everyone convicted of theft. I'm certain from your attitude that you would agree with that....right? Otherwise...you're just a friggin liberal that coddles criminals...right?

Putting aside ages for the moment, the three strikes law still applies. Drug possession is a felony. You get caught a few times and you get life in prison.

Do they give you some warning you're about to be a lifer.
See how stupid the system is?

You say they get a few chances to NOT end up for life, and then call the system stupid?

/boggle

Who benefits from locking someone in a cage for 25 years at taxpayer expense for smoking a joint?
