Cherry Hill student's challenge to Tea Party champion Michele Bachmann prompts 'threa

Re: Cherry Hill student's challenge to Tea Party champion Michele Bachmann prompts 't

Since doing that usually leads to confrontation in one form or another, one could come to the conclusion that you would be trolling then.

j-mac

And one would be wrong to believe that.

Re: Cherry Hill student's challenge to Tea Party champion Michele Bachmann prompts 't

Not irrelevant at all. What are you proposing they debate about? the color of the sky? What you don't seem to get is that this is a really dumb idea.

j-mac

You completely missed the point of my post.

Re: Cherry Hill student's challenge to Tea Party champion Michele Bachmann prompts 't

Zyphlin, which party supports Government programs that reward people merely based on skin color, while denying same rewards to others based on skin color?

Point, match, win.

Sorry, check anywhere on this forum and you'll see I've long been a staunch and advid believer in context and intent eing important with regards to the suggestion of something being racist or not. I apply that in all situations, be it people accusing Rush Limbaugh or Newt Gingrich or people calling Democrats that. I don't change what my definition is to suit my political needs. Things like Affirmative action are not done out of a notion that blacks are superior, or that whites are inferior, or to punish someone for being white. The intent of them is to provide assistance to a group that for whatever reason seemed to be disproportionately doing worse with regards to that issue. I don't like affirmative action, and I would never say there aren't racists for racist reasons, but I don't believe its inherently a racist idea based on the way I judge racism...regardless of whether or not its a democratic idea.

Re: Cherry Hill student's challenge to Tea Party champion Michele Bachmann prompts 't

Textbook Strawman.

Because the reader can't see your post that I was responding to, they assume that was my position -- all anti-Obama's are racist.

But that's not what I said. I was responding to your specific quote --

Moving on.

In the next paragraph you sort of transition to what I was really commenting on (birthers, and those still having doubt)... AND, you bravely admit you have your own doubts.

Let me be specific. I'm talking about birthers and those still harboring doubt, even a little doubt.

IMO opinion, that doubt stems from a subtle from of hidden closet racism. When you peel back the layers, asking people to specifically define what they 'hate' about Obama, you inevitably get to 'welfare', 'socialism', or other negative associations stemming from the color of his skin.

Yet, the words themselves (welfare, socialist) bare no literal relations to his actual policies. So what is it then? What do they 'hate'?

IMO - On a subconscious level, those with doubt were not ready for a black president. That older generation still holding on to the stereotypes of yesteryear. The code words on Fox News, their daily narrative, help keep that fire burning, even if it's just embers.

You are injecting race into a situation where race does not matter. Why you can't comprehend that people don't completely trust the government or can disagree with a person's policies based solely on the facts is beyond me. It has nothing to do with race, period. I know that the talking points that are fed to you tell you to do this, but it's a fabrication, a smear campaign and a complete lie.

As usual, you got your little jab in at FOX News. This seems to be the bane of your existence and it's quite sad to be honest. I'm perfectly OK with having a black president. The color of one's skin does not matter to me in the slightest. I said during the 2008 election that I have no problem with a black man in office, it just has to be the right black man and Obama is not that man. There's nothing subconscious in the slightest at play here, only your smear campaign.

Let me say this again - it has nothing to do with race, period and your pathetic attempts at making this an issue only prove to all of us that you are a partisan hack of the highest order.

Now, THAT'S the kind of thing I'm always surprised to see a Global Moderator post.

I see, the old "nuh uh, you're just wrong" defense...While effective on the 4th Grade playground at 10 am recess, just not too plausable in here. Sorry.

Nope. Just pointing out that you're wrong. The fact that you cannot or will not accept that is not my problem... it's yours.

And you deem yourself the judge of right and wrong? Pretty arrogant if you ask me. See the difference between me and you, is that while I readily admit when I am truly wrong about something, although in a debate forum where we are talking opinions, where a subjective 'right, or wrong' does not, and can not apply, your proclaimations, and absolute condemnations of those who disagree with the 'all knowing' Capt. Courtesy is really laughable.

See, the thing is that in life we all run into arrogant know it all's like you in real life, usually they are compensating for some other shortcoming. We can only guess what yours is.

Nope. You presented an opinion on something that I was doing. You were wrong. See, the difference between you and I is that I don't assume that I know what the other person is thinking or what their motivation is unless I have evidence. You do. Now THAT sounds like a whole lot of arrogance to me... probably means you are compensating for some sort of shortcoming in your life. We can only guess what yours is.

Cherry Hill student's challenge to Tea Party champion Michele Bachmann prompts 'threats

Cherry Hill student's challenge to Tea Party champion Michele Bachmann prompts 'threats' | Courier-Post | courierpostonline.com

What is wrong with people? We should be applauding someone that age being interested enough in our nations and its politics that she would even bother to write a letter to our elected representatives. Instead this person receives threats?

I'd like to see her call out, less idiotic politicians.
I'm sure no matter who, she'd be able to brow beat the lot of them.

Plus, she's a really cute kid.

So you think a demo, or even a Libertarian like Paul would accept such a losing premise as this? That to me would call into question their intelligence.

I think it would be hilarious.

Cut out all the emotional bull**** and get to brass tacks.
Most politicians couldn't support their platform from a factual basis, if their lives depended on it.

Oh, I don't know about that so much, as I just think this whole premise borders on the old "when did you stop beating your wife" meme.

Other than the people on sites like this that follow politics, and enjoy discussing it, people are generally removed from the everyday twists and turns. They maybe pay attention for about 3 months, every other year, or every four years, and make their decissions based on commercials.

This particular thing seems like a ploy to me, and if we were in a time when political turns didn't have so much division woven in this wouldn't have even made any news at all. But times like they are I guess we can't expect liberals to turn down a low hanging fruit when it comes to personally attacking someone.

Seriously though.

Bachmann has so many gaffs, its ridiculous that she is even in a position of power.
She makes herself look like a moron.
She's the Joe Biden of the House of Representatives.

It only furthers it by having a 16 year old girl, spank her persona.

Yeah, but look where Sista Joe is today....Bachman is not going to go far unless she gets some real help messaging, but it isn't going to be because of some ridicullous stunt like a 14 year old challenging her to a debate that everyone knows will never happen.

Of course, there is no advantage to debating her, as it has been said.
Doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see it, with any politician.

Hell I'd LOVE to have a go with Obama and Bachmann.

HG the Bully + 1, them -2.

Did I hurt your feelings? I know you don't like being called out when you say something ridiculous. Easy way for this not to happen is not to do it. I'm sure I've told you this before.

Hurt My what? Feelings? Nah, I am not a libtard that thinks everyone hangs on their every word in a forum room like some underwear clad loser. You really need a life sir. Beyond that stick to forum talk, I am sure you are physically safe there.

What's unbelievable is that Cons NEVER ignore these things when it's a Conservative receiving the threats. For example, consider Sarah Palin's family.

So, apdst, as hard as it may be for you, do you want to drop the partisan hackery and look at this objectively? Yes? No?

Why wouldn't we care if someone is threatened?
