    From OP article:

A bill passed Friday by the Tennessee Senate would forbid public school teachers and students in grades kindergarten through eight from discussing the fact that some people are gay.
IOW a kid can not say their parents are gay.

Nope, but they can say their parents are TAKEI!
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

Slightly off topic but I think the idea that sex ed should be left up to the parents is ridiculous. Teens should be taught sex ed by a professional sex educator, and be given facts about things like birth control, abstinence, STI's, Aids, homosexuality, transsexuality, etc. It shouldn't be left up to the parents, just as math, or history shouldn't be left up to the parents.

I don't think either of us are old enough to remember those times, unless we want to dig through the archives.

Regardless, I'm not sure why you actually care, lol.

Asian parents never give us the "sex talk." They just expect you to be smart enough to figure it out.

Well thats BS. That's how the dialogue should be opened up. A kid says he has two moms or whatever and the other kids go home and mention it to their parents. Then the parents can explain to them.

We were talking about little kids here.
However, as far as sex ed and teens, I think the parents should know exactly what is being taught and be supplied with all the material. It should be discussed in the home too and not just left to the so called "professional" sex educators.

Nobody has satisfactorily explained to me why this must be BANNED. Can ANYONE give a good reason as to why?
