Willie Nelson endorses Johnson for president

my views and his vary considerably
but what i like about him is that he is willing to take an independent stand based on his own beliefs
and then act on them ... as evidenced by his considerable veto collection
most stick a wet finger into the air of pubic opinion to decide what it is they stand for today

Despite my bashing of Republicans, there are a few of them that I would vote for. And Gary Johnson is one of them. He understands that the War on Drugs is a total flop. And Willie Nelson's Teapot Party has now endorsed him. Works for me. The problem with Democrats is that they are even more supportive of the War on Drugs than anybody else, which is one of the reasons I have never voted for one. If you don't buy that, then just look at Obama's threats against the soverignty of the state of California. This war needs to end ASAP, so we can start going after REAL criminals. And there are a few good Republicans who will do just that.

Article is here.

I actually agree with him on a majority of things. They are:
1) ending the War on Drugs
2) simplifying the tax code
3) balancing the federal budget

I disagree with him on a few other things, though.
1) slashing entitlements
2) ending involvement in Afghanistan
3) ending involvement in the Libyan Civil War
4) ending American presence in Iraq

I would really like to see the nuances of politics though and how far he prepares to go with his libertarian ideology before I make up my mind on him.

I don't mind moderate libertarians, but I'm against, well, immoderate libertarians.

I actually agree with most of his views - not all, but a lot of them.

So I KNOW he won't get the Republican nomination.

It will be tough but there's a lot of time. He might actually take away Dem votes with some of his policies, such as legalization of pot, out of Afghanistan and Iraq, and so on.

Willie meant to endorse Johnson, but then he got high...

He has recanted his endorsement in favor of Dennis Kucenich.

In the immortal words of Toby Keith...NEVER smoke weed, with Willie again...

True, but first he'll have to get the Republicans to nominate him.

I had never heard of Willie when I was introduced to his music in 1973 but I liked it.

Then I actually met him in 1974 at a little thing called the Nacogdoches back Woods Beer Festival along with many other Country Music entertainers, and my response was he was funny clever and high as a kite, smoking a joint.

When he did a radio interview years later about being in the Clinton White House and going out on the Balcony to smoke a joint I lost all respect for him.

I know that a some of the Founding Fathers grew Pot but it was legal then, and that is different.

Lmao... Willie probaby smoked up with Billy. Though Billy probably didn't inhale.
