Because for a lot of folks it would bring closure and would satisfy the curiosity of the general public folks. It is not about proving anything it is about there are folks that wish to see these pics and with freedom of the press we should be allowed. I know he is dead but this does not quench my desire to view the pics. Color me morbid

You apparently don't want to get to the bottom of this. Its impossible to evade the radar for so ****ing long without the help of someone inside. Killing UBL, you eliminate any possible connection with any past government official

Someone inside was helping that scumbag

Sorry...not buying it...this group calling itself non-partisan is as dishonest as all the leftist sites out there that attack Beck and Fox news. They are the corrupt twin of Media Matters...just as putrid and just as corrupt. they arent seeking this info because its anyones right...they are trying to use it to launch an attack against Obama. These people ought to be flushed like the other turds.

Another conservative making a stink just because it's democrats in power. Do you think this group would be saying the same thing if it were Bush withholding the photos?

Playing devil's advocate though, we broadcast the footage of Saddam's relative' dead bodies for the world to see, and that was during wartime when it could have inflamed the enemy.

The choice to not do so now seems arbitrary, even though I understand the reasoning.

So...let them be leaked. I mean, if that's truly Judicial Watch's position, why put up such a fuss about releasing the photos? Just let them find their way out into the public domain and be done with it.

Now, initially I was in favor of releasing the photos of Bin Laden's death only as a way to dispel rumors that his dealth was somehow faked. But since OBL's 4th wife, Al Quada and the Pakistan government all came out and said the man is in fact dead, I really don't see the need to provide visual proof. The testimony of the one person who was at the scene who witnessed his dealth - wife #4 - is good enough for me. But having Al Quada and the Pakistan government both substantiate her testimony seals it for me.

I think people just need something to bitch about, but letting Republican groups call for the release of pictures seems like a good strategy to me. If they somehow force the government to release them and then something bad happens, it's all on the Republicans and Obama looks like the rational one. It's a win-win for the Obama administration.

That's the point. We don't want potential enemy's seeing Seal Team deployment techniques. So, the video is absolutely a national security issue.

As far as the death photo - we are better than them. We don't need to post our kill trophies all over the internet.

These are barbarians we are fighting, zealots, and mentally unstable individuals. If cops take down a black gang-banger who has some following in neighborhoods, they don't go posting his death photo on the news. That's what makes us better.

No if Bush had been in power when Osama Bin Rotting was terminated with extreme prejudice it would be a lot more libs whining that the scumbag didn't get a fair trial- like some libs and some ODS sufferers on the right are saying. I expect the left would have been howling about international law a bit more since that tends to be the refuge of the left rather than American-Primacy rightwingers like me.

of course most of us Republicans are glad that the cockroach got squashed and commend BHO for giving the order (most likely to a conservative leaning operative) to boot the boot down on the bug
