Does anybody read anymore? I specifically said that everybody (in the U.S.) has the right to burn the flag or the Qu'ran. I also said I don't particularly like the idea of burning either. I further said that increased inherent risk in burning the Qu'ran makes me even more unlikely to burn it than I would be to burn the U.S. flag. I do not base my opinion on the idea of being "offended", because quite frankly I don't care if you're offended. I care what you do with that offense. You would probably scream and yell and call me names from here 'til Sunday. But a radical muslim (and there are a bunch of 'em) would take one look at me burning the Qu'ran and all of a sudden we'd see a rash of attempted attacks. Just like we did when that idiot pastor decided to burn them.

lol. I'm really not. I actually do feel like most Muslims are good people, but the squeaky wheel are the radicals and they're trying every day to cause us harm. I'm not gonna encourage it, ya know?

I wish all Muslims were like Dave Chappelle or Shaq. Then I'd spend my entire day on youtube laughing my ass off.
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

I can't watch Dave Chappelle anymore. I had a drunken night with a former boss which all began with Dave Chappelle season 2 on DVD. I flash back to that night everytime I see Chappelle on TV.

For the record, the idiot pastor did not end up burning them.

Your arguing with me about whether or not burning the Qu'ran or the American flag is equally offensive and wrong. You have been sitting here telling me all afternoon that the American flag is not of equal importance to me as the Qu'ran is to a muslim. You have been sitting here telling me that the Qu'ran symbology is of a higher value that of the American flags.

I have been sitting here telling you that it is not ok for someone to burn the American flag anymore than it is ok for someone to burn the Qu'ran. You cannot sit here and justify one while condemning the other just because some people of one side is willing to resort to violence more than the other. This logic does not apply to any aspect of life and it doesn't apply to this.

LOL sad how a such an innocent mistake could ruin such a great comedian for you.

Actually, he did. Back in March.

Either I didn't make myself clear, or you didn't understand. Neither mean anything me, so I simply don't care who does what, except going after one would have inherently worse consequences than going after the other. I never condemned either one of them, for that matter. I've said multiple times that it's everybody's right to burn both of them, just as I've said over and over again that I would not burn either. My point is that saying the flag is worse because it personally offends you more is silly, because there are bigger issues, which you either refuse to acknowledge or refuse to accept because it would mean admitting you're slightly wrong here.

The logic of consequence applies in every single aspect of life. If you're going to choose between two houses to rob, are you going to go into the house with the old lady confined to her bed, or the house of the NRA-member policeman? You take the path of least consequence. If you're in a hurry do you run the red light or wait for it to go green? You take the path of least consequence. If you have to choose between a job 40 miles away that pays enough to live on, or a job 10 miles away that would require that you sell off assests? You take the path of least consequence.
