I thought that joke of a state seceded last year? If not, can't we vote them off the continent?

Upside...that's not nice. You need to direct that crack at an asscrack by the name of Rick Perry. Ever hear of the term "wacknut"? Perry is the poster child for wacknut. There is an intrinsic level of ignorance that a person would have to have to even subscribe to the idea of seceding, which really goes beyond political ignorance. Perry is below that level.

Most people in Texas have better sense. Texas couldn't exist as an independent nation, despite it's vast amount of diverse resources.

It would be one thing if the people voted for it, but they didn't.

So... because criminals will always have access to guns, you support imposing restrictions that will only impact the law-abiding? That makes perfect sense...

What about the stories you hear about guns being discovered in lockers or falling out of backpacks? Admittedly, it seems unlikely in most cases that the students were planning on going on a rampage (more likely they just wanted to show off to their friends or something...). However, with laws like this in effect, nobody would be able to question that kid. And, frankly, I do think a desire to bring a gun to class deserves some questioning.

The stories you hear are just that... stories.

Many people carry guns everywhere they are legally able to do so. Do they all deserve questioning as well?

What I find interesting is the fact that we didn't have a campus gun ban to shoot down anyway (pun intended). Much ado about nada.

And it's my experience that law enforcement accomplishes little more than counting dead bodies and writing speeding tickets anyway.

When it comes to this type of violence, the police are wildly ineffective. They stop nothing.

LOL, the bitterness of Colorado for its utter dependence on Texas never ceases to amaze. Just keep your slopes open, and we'll keep subsidizing your economy, as well as sending our developers out there to build stuff for you to work and live in.

You are right. That was not nice. I should be kinder to the less fortunate.

Sorry, by Texas is not my kind of state (though I will acknowledge that one man's trash is another's treasure, and it does have some redeeming qualities to some). I, for one, do not like its politics nor its climate. It just is generally not my favorite place to visit (though it is a more interesting place than many), yet I must go there reasonably often. Rick Perry's in your face silliness last year (combined with is whining this year as he had to pay the political price for his silliness) just put Texas from something I can live with to an outright irritant to me. The quiet, arrogant fat boy just became the loud, arrogant fat boy.
