Oh puh-lease....If you look at the numbers, there are as many hard core liberals that are against the healthcare plan as there are conservatives. The main problem with the healthcare law is the Republican ideas that were put into it as an attempted compromise. I agree that the law should be changed....but take the 45% that like the healthcare law and add in the 20% or so liberals that oppose it because of the lack of a healthy public option and you have 2/3rds of the country in support of it.
Scrap the Republican plan to require people to buy insurance, add in the public option and I'd support it.

This is why many misread the statistics.

Obama's problem with this is that he started, and pushed the debate on a premise of not blaming, not demonizing, and talking through ideas from both sides. Since the beginning he, and his administration, has demonized, blamed, rejected ideas from across the isle, and is now through his administration is using scare tactics to obfuscate the obvious in that American's don't want this plan, don't like this plan, and want to start over and fix this constitutionally, not through heavy handed dictatorship of this plan.

j, while I don't believe he successfully brought in the change in this area he said he would, the republicans in congress who made clearly early on that the main thing was to oppose Obama NO MATTER WHAT share the blame in this. Any kind of change in this area requires both sides actually try.

Mark Twain. And he's correct. Those who read the satistics to say the public wants the goverment to do less are lying (I say lying because they know what we all know). There's a a fairly even split. As many want the government to do more as want less.

Joe, God love ya! You're just plain wrong on this. Listen, this HC debate and law was crafted, pushed, and voted in the middle of the night completely by a demo majority in all three branches. The GOP was powerless to do ANYTHING to stop, change, or move it in any way. That was clear enough by how the GOP was locked out of the closed door meetings on the plan. So you can try and spin it all you want, but the truth is that all the GOP could do was cause noise.

Well, it is true that the people today seem to want to vote themselves riches from the Treasury, to wit is a deathnell to the republic. But we don't have the leadership now to show a different course. Most of these entitlements were enacted by demo politicans, and bleeding hearts decades ago, now you are seeing that you reep what you have sown.

Not wrong j. Go back and read republican comments. They didn't start out on day one locking republicans out. That occured after republicans made clear their single purpose was to oppose anything Obama did. I challenge you to back and look with nutural eyes.

And your reading of the polling is more koolaid drinking. First both parties are to blame of excessive spending. Second, this can be done more effectively if we stoped the demoizing, the misinformation and just sat down to solve the problem. It would be better for the country, but not so good for the wedge issues our politicians so need.

Hey, tell that to your hero Obama, he just recently sent Sebeilus to Capital hill to testify that repubs want to kill seniors with their HC proposal in their budget proposal.

Scare tactic, demonization, and pure misinformation.....Now what?
