Bin Laden 'planned new US attack'

This does not surprise me one bit. Makes you wonder if thats all the information that was released, what concerns me is nuclear power plants, thanks to the Japan disaster. Although Nuclear Power plant security is top-notch these days, people will do just about anything for money. Railways systems are another big threat, not much you can do about those.

AQ has plans for everything. Being able to carry them out is another matter. I'm not surprised that he was doing such a thing, but I'd be surprised that if they did try to pull it off our huge national security apparatus wouldn't see it coming.

AQ will give you false positives.

This is the next generation AQ. AQ 3.0.

Most of the opposition will be citizens of the country they are operating in, will not frequent high visibility areas such as "radical mosques", will be everything that can't be tracked by metrics, profiling etc. Al Q has learned from other groups either through direct contact and a working relationship or they have learned through experience.

Yep. I'm not really upset we shot him unarmed. That said, I'm not shocked nor really worried about this news. Our military likely has plans on how to defend from an attack by Australia while Invading New Zealand, but that doesn't mean its likely going to occur or is in the process of being done. I don't doubt Osama was attempting plans on another attack, though the bigger quiestion to me is how close to happening and how likely it would be.
