Perhaps some some photos of what happens to terrorists, and whether any celestial virgins might be interested in a bullet ridden corpse, might discourage further recruitment efforts.

We've seen civs before getting mutilated by these people, We have also seen Americans jumping from the towers to their deaths and saw Saddam's sons being drag about, etc, etc
Appeasing our enemy is not a wise move.
If a fear of angering the bad guys even more is the only reason, then there is no reason not to show the photographic history of this event.
If this fear of the enemy is the reason, then we have one weak ass president sitting in the most powerful office in the world.
