Obama did a great job...by staying out of the way, for a change.

This is a victory for the United States. Not Bush and not Obama. That is probably the reason Bush doesn't want to attend the gathering and distract from it's real meaning.

wait, here's a question? Do you think you could kill him? I mean could you put a loaded gun to his head and shoot the guy yourself? Would you, could you with an m4, would you could you with an m9?

tell me would you feel like celebrating afterwords?

    I suggest a book...

On Killing, by LTC david Grossman. It's open your eyes a little, to a world you can not fathom.

Again with the shrug. It's like a tell in poker.

Welfare (Food Stamps, WIC, etc...) are not entitlements. They are taxpayer funded handouts and shouldn't be called entitlements at all. Social Security and Veteran's benefits are 'Entitlements' because the people receiving them are entitled to them. They were earned and paid for by the recipients.

It would be some high ranking member in the military that would have been served up as a scapegoat by the Obama administration.

This is Obama's show and he doesn't want to be intruding in on it, popping his face up constantly, having the media start going into back and forths with them, etc. He's content with his 8 years in, was happy for the opportunity, has shown immense class in refusing to attack or degrade Obama during this entire time, and generally is staying in the background and letting things go forward. He likely doesn't want to be there because he knows it'll cause a big ruckus and get a lot of attention, and its not his place to be that any longer in his mind.
I've heard that it is an unspoken rule that previous Presidents do not criticize each other. And in my memory, I think this is a pretty consistently held rule. They tend to work together on projects than anything else, for disaster relief and such.

But, Carter may have spoken critically of 'W', I believe, and I also remember Carter being criticized for doing so.

Let me refresh your memory. Would it be names like Graner and England, low ranking scumbags taking the rap for a Smirker-in-Chief who did not and does not have the courage to defend the people following his orders? His military. CIC, head gazabo, numero uno, the bucks stops here, etc.

Does anybody know why Bush says he won't go, or are his lips sealed on the issue?
