Beck donates $51k to Murphy Theatre

Nearly five months after Glenn Beck visited Wilmington and helped give local businesses a much needed cash infusion, the popular talk-show host is pulling out his wallet to help the theater that hosted him.

Beck and his wife, Tania, recently sent a check for $51,000 to the Murphy Theatre to help repair its aging infrastructure — a five-project undertaking which is expected to cost more than $500,000.

“I literally started crying,” said Murphy board member Leslie Keller when recalling the phone conversation she had with Beck’s representative. Keller had called to ask if Beck and his production team would donate $5,500 to the theater’s fund-raising campaign. Instead, Beck offered $40,000. “You can imagine how blown away we were.”

But that $40,000 grew into $51,000 when the final proceeds were tallied from a home sale that Beck hosted in the run-up to his “America’s First Christmas” event in December 2010.......

51 thousand dollars? That's so brave of him! He's going to have to sell his home now. Talk about sacrifice.

Is this really breaking national news?

Can this be moved to where it belongs, somewhere much lower, like, down in "general anything?"

Well, it is from a newspaper and it is a "new" story, so......

I figured the same ole people wouldn't have anything nice to say.

51,000 is an odd number. Are you guys sure he is an American and not the anti Christ or anything?

Well our numerical system was strongly influenced by Arab Muslims. Beck is a Muslim. Case closed.

$51,000, that's an awkward amount, let me get my chalk board and explain how he is really funding al-qaeda!

Yes, it as awkward amount. If you read the article it tells you why.

At first they were expecting $5,500 and Glenn offered $40,000. Then he added in all the money from the online sales he had of things from his home. Therefore, the odd amount.

Glenn Beck is a piece of ****. There is news for you.

Stop trolling. This thread is about a gift of charity. Go complain about him elsewhere, please.

But what you fail to realise is that one of the people who bought that stuff lives in the same street as a person who has a cousin that got their pet chicken from a man who visted Pakistan in 1973, and who else lived in Pakistan? That's right, until recently, Beck directly funded Osama bin Laden.

Good for him. It's good to see him help them out.

He's still an idiotic conspiracy theorist. Charity doesn't make you exempt from criticism or else no one would be able to say anything bad about George Soros. Something tells me if we found out that he's donated millions over the years that it wouldn't make you think he's a swell guy.

Not only did Beck fund Osama bin Laden, he turned on him as well. Beck informed the CIA of Osama's whereabouts, which lead to him getting killed. Now you think, "hey, Beck did a good thing, he turned himself around and came back to our side." Not so fast, why do you think he quite his popular TV show out of no where? Oh that's right, to become the new leader of Al-Qaeda!! It all makes perfect sense

:lamo You're a genius, we have revealed inarguable evidence that not only did Beck fund bin Laden, he also took over his position in a Dalai Lama like ceremony of reincarnation, while at the same time kicking a puppy!

Not just any puppy, this puppy.

51,000

Let's see.

5 + 1 = 6
Beck does the 9/12 Project

6,000/9 = 666

Glenn Beck is the anti Christ, and he isn't giving charity to The Murphy. He put a curse on The Murphy, and he is fooling his cult of followers.

Open your eyes Beck fans. You should start building a bomb shelter soons. I think the end is near. But don't take my word. Do your own research and stuff.

When will Beck fans start a fund to help Beck?

All I can say is how despicable it is to read the postings of Beck's detractors. This has nothing to do with his politics, or anything of the sort, he is on this project an American helping out other American's in this time of need. Something we should all do these days.

But sadly, any mention of Beck, or anyone that opposes the hard left these days brings this bitter vitriol to the forefront. Tell me libs, what is it that you just can't say good for him, and wonderful for the Murphy Theater? No, you have to pull out the Sol Allensky handbook and attack him mindlessly. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Well he is the new leader of Al-Qaeda, so obviously this theatre is just a front for a terrorist cell.

This must be in addition to money he donated to local charities back in Feb.
