Actually, that would be pretty funny, given what pigs represent in the muslim religion.

"Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden was buried at sea from the deck of a U.S. aircraft carrier in the north Arabian Sea....

The official described the procedure to NBC News as follows:

•The deceased's body was washed and then placed in a white sheet.
•The body was placed in a weighted bag.
•A military officer read prepared religious remarks which were translated into Arabic by a native speaker.
•After the words were complete, the body was placed on a prepared flat board, tipped up, whereupon the deceased's body eased into the sea from the USS Vinson."

Throwing him overboard is an interesting strategy. The effort is to try and mitigate his martyr-dom. If he were buried, it would have been a flashpoint for his followers for years to come. He'll still be a martyr in the eyes of his followers, however, no matter where the body is at this time.

I'm just glad he is no longer breathing.

His followers will soon hear about the mansion he was living in...

Martyr? He wasn't jailed or tortured. He was hiding out, living comfortably when payback came knocking.

I agree, but some right wingers might say it was to prevent closer examination, DNA proof that it wasn't OBL...
