Re: Al-Qaeda leader Bin Laden 'dead'

Turns out it was a firefight according to Obama, whom I think didn't include the Pentagon in his list of 9-11 list.

Thank God he didn't name the group who killed Osama.

"We’re going to close the unproductive tax loopholes that allow some of the truly wealthy to avoid paying their fair share. In theory, some of those loopholes were understandable, but in practice they sometimes made it possible for millionaires to pay nothing, while a bus driver was paying ten percent of his salary, and that’s crazy." -Reagan

Off camera and away from microphones I would have loved to hear that conversation between Bush and Obama.

Hats off to the military and the military advisers. I question how much Obama really was involved

I bet the guy who got the honor of shooting him feels like he won the lottery.

If it was a "black" specops unit, those guys change their designations every once in awhile anyway just to **** with people's minds.
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

yeah, I'm sure they're crossing off quite a few at the top of the pyramid, hopefully, considering the nature of the op, they got their hands on some good intel too -- something to do with finances or other major cells.
