That was 2 years ago, so the laws may have changed, and I thought that one could in all states. But it doesn't matter, because federally you can, and the fed overrules the states, and in the state this women lives in she can, so like I said there is no reason for you to not call a spade a spade, and use appropriate pronouns.

According to her, it wasn't about that. This does sound like something 2 young punks would do in this day and age. My guess is their was flirting from both sides and the two girls were jealous.

OT kind of... It is about a McDonalds. :) Anyway, this doesn't make sense to me. Since when do you ask permission to use the restroom at a McDonalds? If you don't want to eat, but you need to go, you walk in the door, use the facilities and leave.

In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, African-Americans Christopher White, Abdul Rasuul and Leroy Johnson say they were told they had to buy food if they wanted to use the restroom at the 480 Third Ave. outlet, while a nonpaying white woman didn’t have to buy anything.
They say they suffered “shock, pain, emotional, psychiatric, psychological and mental injuries” as a result of the incident last year.
A rep for McDonald’s said he couldn’t comment until he had seen the suit.

According to Richardson, only Idaho, Ohio and Texas currently join Tennessee in providing no means to revise a birth certificate for change of gender. Some states that do permit a change require a court order, she said.

No there isn't, she lives as female, she has female hormones running through her system, and she has female genitalia, she is a female, and there is no reason(other than bigotry) to not recognize her as female.

In some far off future, when his bones are dug up for research, all the future archeologists will say what a wonderfully preserved man they dug up.

I have to agree. We got some work ahead of us if some will insist a woman is still a man even after going through the whole process of changing genders.

Did you see the video of the victim? She'd be thrown out of a men's room. Who cares what archeologists will say. However, what they will probably say is, "here is another transgendered one".

So the defining point of gender is bone structure, really? So you would make a transwoman use the mens room, and a transman use the woman's room?

I am simply stating that wether someone is a "he" or "she" is determined at birth. Someone using their male sex organ to *replicate* a female sex organ through surgery does not change that. Underneath everything, that individual is still a male. A doctor that examines the individual will be able to tell that it's a male. Future societies will be able to determine it was a male. This individual is only acting like a female (regardless of whatever great reasons he may have) temporarily (which, remember, is a relative measure of time)..

As for which bathroom they should use... Shrug, I have no idea.

It is obvious you have no understanding about GID(Gender Identity Disorder), and transgendered people. They are not "acting" like a male, or female, they are a male or female. It is highly disrespectful to call someone something that they are not, and it only makes you look bad.

Except that in the video interview Polish claims to have never even seen the alleged boyfriend. I'm not sure there even was a boyfriend, the attacker may have just said something to start a fight. I'd love to hear the details of the 18 year olds first assault charge at this McDonald's.

I understand that you believe that since they think they really are female and they live life as a female and they had their male sex organ modified to appear otherwise, that they are female.

I disagree. They were born a male and they will die a male. Upon close investigation, it can be determined that they are still inhabiting a male's body. Wether someone is male or female can not be changed just because they wish it so. Some things are simply impossible to be changed

BTW, this conversation reminds me of when I used to folow DemocraticUnderground.com. There was a guy or girl (can't recall for certain) that believed he/she was an animal (I think it was a panther, but could be wrong) trapped inside a human body - species identification disorder, basically.

He had all kinds of surgeries and was featured on his local news for everything he had done to change his appearance. He insisted he wasn't a human, but just an animal. No matter how he lived, what he did to his body or what he wanted to be called, he was still a human. He may very well have found that disrespectful, but sometimes reality is truly a harsh mistress.

I have no doubt that I will be called all kinds of names for giving the appearance of comparison between the two cases, but so be it.

Then you are denying reality and the existence of gender and gender identity. I suggest you read up on gender identity disorder to understand the mental component of sex/gender distinction. If you knew as much about the human body as you claim to know, you would understand that brain construction also shows sex/gender distinctions and that transgendered individuals often have brain constructions similar to that of the opposite gender that they were born as. (I feel like construction isn't the right word, but I'm sure you get the picture).

There is a HUGE racial component to this.

Notice how the employees - all black - just give kind of a passing "help" to this girl, who is convulsing by the end of this beating. These two black females just keep returning again and again to continue the beating, while the employees just watch.

The camera operator actually warns the attackers that the police are on the way, and that they should hurry up and leave. Incredible.

It takes an older white lady to come in and offer any kind of helpful resistance.

This is a prime example of why I get so disgusted at how the racist tag is so liberally thrown at white people, and how it's almost taboo to discuss in the opposite manner. In my opinion, racism is more deeply rooted and practiced in the black community, both toward whites and Hispanics, than it is in whites.

While not a mainstream news source, there is nothing more "newsy" than actual video, and the recent trend of these attacks in fast-food restaurants, I thought, made it breaking news worthy.

Ummm, there are white employees too who just stood around and watched. And the manager who tried to defend the white girl was black.

Any decent person would have helped her get to a safe place.

The employee's could have done that without breaking any company rules.

No doubt. I won't call him a "she" but will still defend him. The people that did what they did should face severe penalties and, if, after investigation, a hate crime is warranted, those charges should be sought. I don't care about the whole transgender piece of it. No one should face what he faced at the hands of these two disgusting pigs.

I'm not going to get into what she is since her surgery. It doesn't matter to me.

But you're right. The two perps are definately pigs and so is anyone who stood by and watched it happen.

I may have ended up in jail myself but I would have stood between the woman and those two pigs and taken their weak blows myself.

I agree and actually said the same thing somewhere in this thread. The manager should have escorted to the back office or simply locked the door on the attackers the first time they left the store.

IMO the hate crime part is bogus. The victim deserves no special protection under the law.
 
Depends, if it was a personal crime is one thing, if they were enraged that she was once a man and that spurred them to doorslam her in the face is another.
