House Democrat files suit forcing donor disclosure - Forbes.com
WASHINGTON -- A top House Democrat filed a lawsuit Thursday against the Federal Election Commission to force the disclosure of anonymous donors to groups that spend money on political campaigns.
Maryland Democratic Rep. Chris Van Hollen filed suit in federal district court in Washington, saying the FEC had improperly allowed such groups to shield the names of their donors. He also filed a petition asking the FEC to revise a regulation he said allowed donors to these groups to remain anonymous.Sounds like sour grapes. I wonder if he wants this disclosure to apply to Democrats too... like Obama?Van Hollen chaired the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee that year, when the party lost 63 seats and control of the House.
