GOP insiders embrace Trump's Presidential bid

Trump ain't foolin' no one

He's just a self-absorbed opportunist who will stoop to anything to win

To be honest, I'm kind of sick of politicians utilizing patriotism to get votes or support. We had plenty of that post-9/11. To me, patriotism is much more than making empty statements like "America is great" or buying a bunch of flags from Walmart.

Well you can forget it, patriotism has been used for 200 years.

Remind you of any other politician?

I would liek to see a valid, reasonable alternative. We need better people running overall. Let's try to make it a choice betwen better people and not the least bad. That would be a great change, real change.

I'm not saying it hasn't been used. I'm saying that it rings fake to me lately since it is primarily used for a political strategy and not because of a genuine love for this country.

GOP insiders embrace Trump's presidential bid - Yahoo! News

Out with Sarah. In with The Donald.....

GOP celebrities like Sarah Palin aren't getting much buzz. Mainstream candidates like Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty aren't getting much traction. It's people once considered highly unlikely to compete seriously for the party's nomination who are creating big stirs in early voting states, a reflection of an unformed and uncertain GOP presidential field.

GOP activists in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina appear deeply intrigued by, and open to, a run by Donald Trump.....

Here you go Republicans....here is your man. Run Donald Run.....With his extremist birther views and bad tupee....I think he is the perfect GOP candidate.

Trump/Palin 2012 ;)

The mainstream media is feeding us another distraction, another non-starter, another loser. Republicans need to wise up.

I do.

I don't. I'm sorry j, but that guy just was worthy of missing. Hell, even if all your criticism of Obama had merit, he still wouldn't become desirable. Sorry. :coffeepap

No, he could not become desirable. He is nothing that I have called for. and no matter who goes bezerk, that doesn't change. :coffeepap

Nah, Pelosi would never "force" anything. …

Nancy Pelosi is not the most quotable person but this is one of her very best. When politics was raging after the election of Scott Brown in January, 2010, Speaker Pelosi stood her ground and demonstrated what leadership looks like.

“You have to admire the grit and persistence of Pelosi, whose persuasive powers were at their height in the days leading up to the vote. Buffeted by doubts even from within the White House, she held her seat, and managed to cajole both the pro-life conservative Bart Stupak and the single-payer liberal Dennis Kucinich into supporting the bill. That’s some savvy legislating.”

— RENÉE LOTH, op-ed, “The power of Pelosi,” Boston Globe, March 26, 2010

Contrast that with the pathetic leadership of Donald Trump demagoguing the Birther issue. Who would you rather have in power, a leader who gathers the necessary support for programs long sought by Democratic and Republican administrations, in some case dating back to more than a century, or, a guy who actually went bankrupt running a casino and all he really wants to do is have his prime-time reality show renewed for one more season so he can continue to collect a paycheck and is willing to use any means necessary to get that done?

My edit in bold...

Fixed it for ya! :prof

Sometimes I wonder... are we so far gone that things can't be changed? Or are we ****ed?

I guess more toward teh ****ed side. Our system discourages change to it.

You like that coffee icon don't you?

I honestly don't think Trump is going to get the nomination...not unless the republicans get to a point where they decide they're just going to punt this election season. I just can't see a man with his history, his personality, and his polarizing nature managing to pull this off regardless of his wealth. Perhaps my own hopes are bleeding into it a bit, as I refuse to vote for Trump or Palin at this point.

I don't think that the powers that be, aka party financiers, are endeared of Trump. If the money doesn't walk...who will back him come nomination time and risk upsetting the apple cart of "donations"?

Is Trump even a Republican?

Hardly.....LOL....

Seriously though...we could not have survived another year of GWB....

If we can survive President Dumbass for two years, we could survive anything.

GWB would be a godsend at this point.
