I once voted for Dole. Someone like him would be reasonable. I once thought well of Grassley in Iowa, but he appeased tea party members without standing up to their silliness. Lost him some respect. I like Huckabee as a person, but can't support his ideas. He wouldn't likely win either.

What you need is someone who isn't a birther, doesn't see socialism everywhere, understands negotiation isn't a dirty word, can spell republican, and can talk issues more than spout platitudes. This would be good for both sides.

you didn't say that, but if one suffers from poor nation esteem, they tend to see everything that way.

Bob Dole? You have got to be kidding....Dole is blamed in a lot of repub circles of the reason we lost that election. .... Wha...Oh I get it....You prefer a weak ass repub candidate up against your guy to ensure a win for your guy...Ah well, I didn't think anything less.

As for TEA partiers , yes it is silly to revere and want our politicians to get back to following the Constitution isn't it......?

Well, I originally asked the question of you to get a good chuckle out of it. But I'll tell ya seriously, when we want the liberal socialists, children to pick our candidate for us we'll give a call ok?

Americans are so enamored of equality that they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom.

I believe that the ideals that America stands for are great. Do I believe it is currently a great nation? No, I don't. That has more to do with the people running it than what the country stands for.

I think the only reason Trump is being looked at as a serious contender is because he has money behind him. We all know that money makes the world go round and that is no different in politics. He's really a horrible candidate for President, but because he has money people are taking him seriously. So he can make absurd statements backing the Birther movement and still be ok.

I don't think that was the point of the critique. America is the greatest nation, we could be greater. However, the point was to say that this blind nationalism and patriotism being brought up in elections as forms of political propaganda, not one's personal feelings towards the country.

Dole, BTW, was awesome and would have made a terrific President. We missed out on that one.

Oh, wait, that was the story was about the overwhelming attendance of the Tea Party Tax Day events across the country yesterday … not!

    No, this story.

Thats the problem with the teaparty brats they are no different than the most disgusting woman on the planet Nancy Pelosi..they want to ram WHAT THEY WANT down everyones throat just like she did, we saw how america felt about that..and the worm will turn on the teaparty far right also. America does not like either extreme...thats why INDEPENDENTS and MODERATES always determine the victors not far left loons or callous want it all far righters.
