Obama to reporter: 'Let me finish my answers' next time

Maybe Obama should just make Snorrrrring noises when he does not like a question, Just Like the Governator.. Arnold...

Look, I detest Barack Obama....but he was not wrong on this.

I listened to the interview, the Reporter wasn an Ass...and YES, the Office deserves more respect than the "man" who holds it.

I'm sorry you destest Obama, but I respect the decorum in your reply.

What a child this man is. Thin skinned, and unwilling to be challenged in his answers to tough questions. In fact anyone remember during the campaign, reporters he didn't like the questions of somehow disappeared from the press pool?

This is a man that likes to 'control' the media and when he can't it rattles him. What a loser he is.

What? The leader of the free world asks a reporter to to show respect and allow him to fully answer his questions.... and he's a man child? Really?

Obama is in campaign mode and as such, is agreeing to interviews he didn’t make time for in the past. Obama is trying to get his message out so he is doing interviews.

It is rather naive to think that the president should be allowed to use the media for his political campaign without expecting some tough interviews. If he is so thinned skinned or arrogant that he can’t handle some tough questions, he should limit his interviews to MSNBC where they will throw his talking points out there as softball talking points so he can always bat 1.000.

You seem to be having a difficult time telling the difference between "tough" and "rude."

Point to where the reporter was rude. I saw the video and there was nothing rude in there. Put up or shut up.

funny, a guy from NY telling a Californian that he is rude....I would expect the opposite....

i don't know about some of you good people, but one of the first things i was taught as a child when i was old enough to understand was 'don't interrupt when others are speaking, please wait your turn'.

kinda went hand in hand with 'don't talk with your mouth full', 'put your hand over your mouth when you cough' etc.

it's just common decency and good manners.

why you would expect the President of the United states not to be entitled to the same respect we were taught as children is beyond me.

Are you trying to sterotype NYers? I sure hope not.

News interviews aren’t the same as the two of us sitting down to have tea. Also, the president is beginning his re-election campaign by doing tons of news interviews in the hopes that he can get his message out to the people. He knows that the media is going to ask tough questions and that he isn’t sitting down for tea, cookies and a polite chat with them.

If you invite me to tea, I promise to be polite :2wave:

i love your avatar Kali

Obama has been babied since the day he announced his run for president its been nonstop pandering to him...he is totally unprepared to be asked real questions.

what that guy said.

Watch the movie, "Terms of Endearment", when John Lithgow has something to say to a rude grocery store cashier.....:2razz:

I grew up in East Texas, and then joined the Navy. I got exposed to NY, IL, and CN people in the next few years.
It isn't a stereotype when it is true....

Obnoxious as hell.

That's why when New Yorkers move to Texas, they're so caught off-guard by everyone saying "hello" and waving to them when they're driving down the street. Most think we're making fun of them, when that's just what we do.

The guys I do business with in New York or just grade-A pompous assholes. And they don't even know it. It's like they're on an internet forum 24 hours a day, but in public. LOL

My wife was born and raised in NYC. While her mom still lived there we went up every couple of months or so.

When I said "please" or "thank you" to people just stared at me in disbelief.

Whe I said hello to people on the street they looked at me like I had a disease.

On the bus one day I got up to give my seat to a woman who was standing. A man quickly took it before she could sit down. He thought that was very funny.

New Yorkers (NYC), in general, are not very nice people.

Outside of NYC they are as decent and nice as anywhere else in America.

When the answer has ended and the person launches into a speech, it's appropriate for the reporter to cut it short and move on. President Obama has demonstrated his ability, repeatedly, to ramble on with speeches well after any question has been answered and the inadequate answer forgotten.

The reporter wasn't the ass in this instance.

Actually I have to disagree for this reason: This was not an interview in which it was being taped live, and where time would have been an issue. It was heavily cut and editied. He very well could have listened and used that which spoke to his questions. He also editorializes at the end. Obama did not say he opposed being challenneged. He said he didn't like being interrupted. There is a difference. The reporter makes a subjective call, and in the end editoralizes.

who gives a damn.

Reporters are annoying - I actually think it's good that Obama is unwilling ot tolerate their immaturity and benine rude crap.

It's been a couple days since I watched it, but I recall at least one occasion where the reporter interrupted the President. That's rude.
