Just making sure you realize I wasn't talking about anyone specifically.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

Same could have been said four years ago, six years ago, a decade ago. Funny how republicans argued the debt wwasn't important when they were running it up. I'm sorry, it's hard to take you seriously on this.

This is true regardless of who is president and if they actually gave a straight answer instead of a long winded non-answer or a long winded answer to actually bury what they mean.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

All of it is true regardless of who is president or running for any office. Long doesn't mean it neccessarily burys or hides anything. With proper follow up questions and efforts to understand, a long answer can be enlightening. But today, such enlightenment is costly. We really don't want to know.

that's the solution to our budget mess, asking the right questions and follow ups?

    making the effort to understand?

    LOL!

what if the guy you're asking doesn't have any answers?

    like obama

if the president had a plan for budget reform, harry would put it on the floor

absent action, our big 3 social programs will not exist for the next generation in their current forms

    ask away

    and don't interrupt
