    I've got a better idea.

If I was President and somebody wanted an interview, I'd specify a few basic rules of common courtesy, and if when it became clear that they weren't going to be respected, I'd simply tell the hatchet-man in question that I had affairs of state to attend to and walk away.

ETA: I'd also flatly refuse any future interview requests from that station or network until I received a formal apology.
I'm already gearing up for Finger Vote 2014.

Just for reference, means my post was a giant steaming pile of sarcasm.

Right, walk away, that is what I said.

    Obama didn't do that.

Dumb thread dude. Need I remind you that Republicans called "what newspapers and magazines do you read" a "Gotchya question" during the election?

Limbaugh told you that Obama is thin-skinned and therefor you have to go out and repeat those talking points. Good job. Master would be proud.

My bad, I thought you meant if he'd just finished the interview and not said anything when he left.

Now with that being said, I think Obama is a checkers player as opposed to a chess player.

His comments put this nothing reporter on the lips of the whole country.

If Obama would have just walked off, nobody would have even paid attention to the interview and we wouldn't be talking about it here now.

We need a chess player as a president to see three or four moves down the road.
It doesn't matter. If the question is worth asking, it's worth listening to the answer. So, ask your best question and listen to the answer.

I also bet if he walked off after being asked the question, we'd still be hearing about it as well.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

The reporter was rude and combative, I do not blame Obama.

You can legitimately claim about Obama deciding to get involved in Libya and forcing people to buy healthcare, but this is just BS... and you guys are looking for something... anything to complain about smear Obama with.

so now after 5 pages, and some back and forth, I will ask, Whom are you talking about here that has said that Obama is a "Secret Muslim", "Socialist", "Kenyan", or want's to "secretly destroy America"?

Were you saying that Soccerboy was saying this, because that is whom you were addressing? Or were you making a larger point that "You" being in the general terminology is trumpeting that, and I ask if the latter, whom is in the generalization that you so wrongly characterize?

But then you went further to say:

Who are the "idiots" SW? I can assume like you, but I prefer to see you have the integrity to come on out and say it.

Oh, an informed assumption...Well then what are you basing your informed assumption on? And as to assumptions they are a bad road to go down, because generally assumptions are made on perceptions, and thus are skewed by our notions of what we believe, and don't really know about the person we are assuming of.

Facts be damned. Ok that tells me volumes about your thought processes.

Says who? You? Or are you assuming again? they are by the very definition ignorant, and offensive.

Hard to tell who you were talking about....It was generalized to the point allowing you to now weasel out of what you really meant. And no you didn't just say "birtherism is stupid" I posted you exact quote. Now you are just being dishonest about it.

It may not make you a liberal, but it doesn't make you independent either.

Probably in my assumption a liberal that is ashamed to admit it....See how off assumptions can be?

I had a problem with it because I am so damn tired of this Allensky style smear debate that libs often employ today, then just as you did, refuse to stand behind their own words. It is highly dishonest. But if that is how you want to proceed then God Speed girl. I am done with it.

    j-mac
Again, I wasn't making assumptions about the conservatives in this thread being birthers and believing in those conspiracy theories. If you are a birther and believe in those conspiracies, then I think you are ignorant... that's my opinion.

"You might not like how he defends his decisions or his reasoning, but because this is a free country, you're not going to be killed or punished for disagreeing with the leader. But to think this president is a liar, a secret Muslim, socialist, and Kenyan who secretly wants to destroy America is just stupid and insane, and the epitome of ignorant."

The use of "you" is general, second person... "You" wasn't referring to anybody specific as you... jmac, or you... xyz, nor did I generalize all Conservatives in that statement. For example:

"Conservatives might not like how he defends his decisions or his reasoning, but because this is a free country, Conservatives are not going to be killed or punished for disagreeing with the leader. But Conservatives are just stupid and insane, and epitome of ignorant for believing this president is a liar, a secret Muslim, socialist, and Kenyan who secretly wants to destroy America."

Obviously I was addressing birthers and people believing in those conspiracy theories, and saying they are ignorant. I'll own up to it Jmac, because I really do think they are ignorant.

Honestly, Jmac, you just imaged and think I said things that I did not. I am not trying to weasel out of anything.

When Palin couldn't communicate a complete or clear thought or answer a question straight on, nobody interrupted her. They sat back and let her ramble on and on... and that reflected on her.

I want to hear their BS answers and hold them accountable for them... If Obama puts his foot in his mouth, that's something for the GOP to run against him on. If the journalist doesn't give him a chance, that's the journalists fault. I think whatever the pres has to say is more important to hear than some dumbass, bottom tier journalist with a big ego.
