I hope the birther thing does not die and that Obama does not release his birth certificate until the election. I think an election between Obama and Trump would be a lot of fun to watch.

You think the "fringe element" is on the GOP side? How about not even being able to discuss illegal immigration without being called racist?

no not all the mexicans, just the illegal ones, and "used to be" means past tense, as in not anymore......so lots of people care because it belongs to the United States now, thats where US citizens live legally...it doesnt matter the ethnicity, creed or color......the race card is wore out.

Well many here consider me a liberal and I praise the governor for her decision. I suppose its more important to get a "concession" from the opposing party or viewpoint than be glad a dumb bill was never passed.

The right wingers in AZ definitely deserve some credit. After the veto, they did not launch an armed assault on the State Capitol as expected, screaming some gibberish about their "2nd Amendment Right to defend America from invaders."

    Looks like they're evolving.

The lawmakers in AZ who pass these silly bills may not necessarily be among the fringe element.

It may simply be political pragmatism on their part; these pols know that when they pass these bills, the real right wing fringies will get up and go ga-ga over any law sounding tough on "illegals", and so such legislation helps them stay in power, even though, for all practical purposes, it's nothing more than political posturing.
