wow.

in Australia we know how devastating bushfires can be. there's never any complaining about Federal assistance and it doesn't matter what State the fires break out in. people from all over Australia jump in and lend a hand. that's just what we do. the State and Federal Governments offer whatever resources are necessary. they don't even need to be asked.

put those fires out, sooner rather than later. do whatever it takes and if you must bitch about where the money is coming from then save it for later.

Seriously, you had too diss Rick Perry for asking for help from the government? In fact, I despise Governor Rick Perry and I also voted for Bill Wight since I've seen the things he done for Houston, Texas. However, your an asshole for pointed out the fact he asked for a least some help from the government when Austin Texas is in serious need of that help. I'm worried that the wildfires might make their way down here near the coast of Texas. So to say that it was wrong of Governor Perry to ask for that help is just being hackish.



Your also seem to not understand that everyone has their limits on resources to help fight these wildfires. And the fact it incomprehensibly consumes 1.5 million acres of North Texas which has almost certainly a number of fire fighters and emergency personal to help contain these fires. And another thing, my father is a fire fighter, so I'm insulted that you would do a hackish attempted to politicize this however I'm more worried about my father having to go in to that mess as the days go by and its keeps on getting worse.

Wow in Australia, the state leaders dont go around wanting to leave Australia because there is someone from the opposition in the PM seat.

Rick Perry is a hypocrite period. He runs on hating the feds, but when his state is in trouble, weather it is bush fires or a self inflected budget hole, then he has no problem asking for federal money.

As for the bush fires.. to quote a few right wingers on these boards during the floods in the UK and other places... dont live there if it can burn.

Texas would welcome money from the Feds, from other states, or even from Mexico right now. Here is a view of Texas, as seen from the McDonald Observatory:

This is also not true about Conservatives they believe in limited government. They don't hate the government like Libertarians or perhaps Anarchist do actually learn something about Ideologues.

Also PeteEU, your wrong on your viewpoints about Conservatives, since they want limited government not hating the government as you put it. This is more of a Anarchist, or Fascist state than a small government Conservative and the ones we have in office now are typically Neo Conservatives which are the complete opposite of a true Conservative.
