House passes huge GOP budget cuts

how does that prove anything?

I do not expect you to recognize facts and historical research. I know it must be like reading Mandarin to you.

It shows that a majority of BOTH parties voted to start the jewel of the New Deal programs that you rail against.

Do you also need the annual budget votes in which the revenues from your hated Progressive Income Tax were continued and spent year after year and in budget after budget?

So why is the solution to cut taxes for the wealthy and cut benefits for the poor?

Why not dump the tax cuts in favor of smaller benefits cuts?

Or are you one of those guys who thinks lowering taxes always increases revenue?

Because the wealthy use their money to expand business and create jobs, and the poor use their ill gotten gains to stay away from work.

Hence, cutting taxes on the people who pay the taxes (who the hell else deserves tax cuts, hmmmm?) grow teh economy, and cutting the funding for indolence encourages people to get off their lazy asses and go to work.

It shows that a majority of BOTH parties voted to start the jewel of the New Deal programs that you rail against.

And, do you feel, (note the Mayor did not use the word "think") that the partisan lineup of a vote to implement an unconstitutional action eight decades in the past should matter when the issues facing us today are the damages caused by the perpetuation of those illegal programs into the future?

And as to the other main enemy of the current right wing - The Progressive Income tax that turtle and others keeps insisting is the demon child of Democrats...

from the article on Wikipedia

An income tax amendment to the Constitution was first proposed by Senator Norris Brown of Nebraska. He submitted two proposals, Senate Resolutions Nos. 25 and 39. The amendment proposal finally accepted was Senate Joint Resolution No. 40, introduced by Senator Nelson W. Aldrich of Rhode Island, the Senate majority leader and Finance Committee Chairman.[21]

Both Norris Brown and Nelson Aldrich were REPUBLICANS.

Could you translate that into plain english without all the True Believer ideology wrapped into it?

Certainly.

in other words ignore the constitution as the FDR administration did because actually following the constitution as it was intended makes you a fanatical right wing extremist who hates America, the poor the middle class etc

All this time I thought it was just your belief system overloading your brain. With this reply you make it abundantly clear you really do NOT UNDERSTAND OR COMPREHEND history or historical research.

You can go now.

I go and come as I please and don't take orders from those who are living off of our tax dollars. Shall we compare academic resumes so others can judge who understands history?

Turtle:

maybe you enjoy it which is fine, but why get in the gutter with people who seek to bait you into getting infraction points from the scorekeepers.

Come and go as you please??????

What does that have to do with your inability to comprehend historical research and see that BOTH parties passed both Social Security and the Progressive Income tax?

That is the issue here. Your resume - my resume - your education - my education - your degrees - my degrees have nothing to do with the facts presented in support of the issue.

Just for you rev. Just for you.

Social Security Online - HISTORY: Vote tallies on 1935 law

You right wing extremists rant and rail about Social Security and the New Deal. As I have said, it was enacted by both a majority of the members from BOTH parties and that includes Republicans.

House vote 4/19/35 on passage of the Social Security Act

Dems 284 - 15
Rep 81 - 15 (thats over 80% of republican members voting FOR it.

If that is not enough humble pie for you and Turtle to dine on jointly

Senate vote on Social Security Act

Dems 60 yes 1 no 8 not voting
REP 16 yes - 5 no - 4 not voting (thats 2 of every 3 GOP Senators voting FOR Social Security passage
Republican used to be more reasonable, back then they took the word "We" in the Preample correctly, today they've change it to "Me." Today they couldn't care less about the fellow Americans.

so you think spending like drunken sailors and buying votes with money we don't have is caring about fellow americans?

It would seem to me that past accomplishments tell something about who might have credibility. When you go hire someone, you don't all the names in a hat and pick one. You look at their experiences both in work and school. Past achievements while I agee are not a sole arbitor of future sucess but it is a decnt indicator.

Watching you to go back and forth it would be illustrative to the rest of us to compare if you two want to do that. I for one would enjoy it.

I must admit the team of Obama/Geithner and Bernanke have helped with my investments in SLV and GLD. So in a way hey are helping at least this American! My sense is that you may also done well finding a way to bet against the dollar the last year or so.

I guess opportunities are whereever you can find them. I have to admit to never having bought any ammo.

a wholesaler I deal with noted that November 2008 was their best YEAR in a decade

THE question of the 2012 campaign is gonna be---major entitlement reforms, do we need em or not?

republicans say yes

barack the slasher says no

seeya at the polls, pals

My problem with it Prof is that in ryans plan the rich and corporations get pleasure everyone else takes the pain of debt reduction

Take out the 26% tax cut for the highest income bracket and corporations and still get rid of deductions for them..and I believe the plan can pass...its quite obvious that ryan and the teaparty are trying to pull a fast one and give the bigshots another big tax DECREASE at the middle class expense.
There is no sharing the pain in Ryans plan...its all SS Medicare and Medicaid recipients...
Moratorium on ALL foriegn aid tell were out of debt would be nice and an assault on illegal immigration would be nice along with their assault on public workers and everyones pension and health plan....
The teaparty and its supporters need to realize just how many middle class republicans there are...the gop cant afford to lose to many of them.

LOL--more mindless drivel

tax cuts to the group that now pays more of the federal tax burden than any time in the last 70 years causes deficits but 47%of the population paying no federal income taxes and in many cases voting for more and more spending doesn't cause these problems?

As usual, you completely ignore history. Taxes for the wealthy are the lowest they have been in over half a century. Our debt problems began when the taxes for the wealthy were slashed and will only begin to be addressed when the wealthy begin paying their fair share again.

That is pretty much spot on as to how Turtle thinks.

Taxes for the wealthy are the lowest they have been in over half a century. Our debt problems began when the taxes for the wealthy were slashed and will only begin to be addressed when the wealth begin paying their fair share again.

Not so sure about that. Even with a trillion dollars in revenue reduction from the tax cuts, the projected decline in debt even after Clinton's accounting fraud would have left us on a pretty solid financial footing. What really screwed us over was Iraq. Not to mention Bush's runaway socialist medicare drug bill. The one his adminstration blackmailed the FDA into lying to the public about the costs of .
