House passes huge GOP budget cuts

I meant exactly what I said. There are options ,each with a downside. My point was that the current way of running things should not be one of them. If entitlements go bankrupt noboby wins.

So why is the solution to cut taxes for the wealthy and cut benefits for the poor?

Why not dump the tax cuts in favor of smaller benefits cuts?

Or are you one of those guys who thinks lowering taxes always increases revenue?

Republicans only care about cutting entitlements to the poor.

Most Republicans haven't seen a corporate welfare entitlement that they don't whole heartedly endorse

Republicans want tax reform that benefits the wealthy and cuts that hurt the most vulnerable, the elderly and the poor.

Anyone on social security, medicare/medicaid that votes Republican must have a hole in their head.
this is very disappointing to hear. This statement just implies that people who receives government aid should always strive to keep it no matter how selfish or righteous it is. You are encouraging the fight for dependence on the government.

Why not increase prosperity while weening the dependent off of the gov't teat?

Or are you one of those "People are too stupid and incapable of surviving without Gov't aide?"

It's how his idealogical side stays in power.

Where did I say cut taxes for wealthy? I just said entitlements need to be dealt with. If not they will go bankrupt.

Disney, if oyu haven't figured it out yet, the Dem's "caring" is to give people that vote for them, other peoples money, or what is more the case now that the Dem's have "helped" so many, is to borrow money we can never pay back to stay in power.

What you and your ilk have done is promise other peoples money, and future generations money to bribe todays voters dumb enough to allow themselves to become slaves to the state.

Its not "other people's money"...sorry....I don't buy into that. Reagan handed the wealthy the biggest tax cut in the history of this country while raising taxes on the poor and middle classes. Was Reagan giving the wealthy the poor's money?

Why is it that you Republicans love to hand out corporate welfare but cringe at the idea of providing food stamps and medicare?

Open your eyes Vich...it is you guys that want to make the poor and middle classes slaves to the wealthy. The GOP would love to eliminate the middle class and they are doing everything they can to make that happen.

DD you forgot to accuse the right of wanting seniors and school childeren to eat dog food.

Do you think that medicare and medicaid along with food stamps should be cut so that those making over 250K can keep their tax cuts?

Not at all....I'm am encouraging people to fight the GOP's war on the working, middle classes. I don't want people dependent on the government....I just don't want people at the whims of the corporate elite.

They don't even want them to have dogfood Rev.....the GOP's war on the working class is in high gear and Republicans won't be happy until the middle class is destroyed.

Do you support the corporate elite or do you support the working/middle class.

Yeah, let's privatize Medicare, because as we've seen over the last few years, private companies are oh so responsible with other people's money...

... and the government is so much better with your money?!?!?!?!?! Private companies at least have the incentive to keep you as their customer, the government couldn't care less.

That is hilarious....considering that the entire strategy behind the GOP's war on the working class is to try to pit people against one another.
You guys are too much.....really.

Framing the question as stated, the answer is no.

Why are you saying people will be at the whims of the corporate elite? Where does this fear come from? we have anti discrimination laws, laws against monopolies, and the freedom to choose what company we want to participate in. This right to choice keeps companies in line, regardless of all the government regulation on upkeep and quality that exists.

House passes huge GOP budget cuts, opposing Obama - Yahoo! News

Republicans controlling the House pushed to passage on Friday a bold but politically dangerous budget blueprint to slash social safety net programs like food stamps and Medicaid and fundamentally restructure Medicare health care for the elderly.

The choice in the next election is becoming more and more clear. There is no question which party represents the interests of the wealthy and which party represents the interests of the rest of the country.

The GOP fought hard earlier to preserve tax cuts for those making over 250K. Today they showed how they want to pay for those cuts...by slashing money from food stamps, medicaid and medicare.

The GOP war on the elderly, the poor and the working class continues....

Somehow the Reps made the case that the poor don't want to work, and welfare and entitlements are the reason why we're in a recession. Can't blame the 60 percent who are buying it, because frightened people will believe anything.

However, I do blame the Republican leaders who capitalize on this fear, and coerce their lemming like associates, pundits, commentators, and media, those who blindly aid and abet the crime.

Slaves to the wealthy?

Have you ever considered the reality that the more "gov't helps" the more people seem to "need it"?

Why do you think Tax Cuts are giving the Wealthy anything? It's not the Gov'ts money first, it's the creators of the wealths money and the Gov't takes it.
