Misbehaving Boy, 8, Pepper Sprayed By Police

All of those cops should be fired, if not imprisoned. It was an 8 year old boy. What has gone so wrong in this country that several adults can't think of any way to deal with a child other than to pepper spray him. I'd like 5 minutes alone with those tough guys that thought that pepper spray was appropriate here.

(Internet tough guy alert!!!) Id love for you to REALLY be impressive and have to deal with 'chirruns' like this.

Say what you want...
But it's pathetic to see a 8 years old that is tougher than a trained cops.

Luckily they didn't shoot the kid.

Btw I don't hate cops, I just don't like the corrupted idiot cops.

You still miss the point. Physically controlling an out of control 8 year old is far more likely to cause harm than a shot of pepper spray.

did everyone miss the part where they said no harm came to the squirrel and it was released into the wild?

Much better to accidentally step on it or crush it with a box while trying to capture it 'humanely', huh.

Agree but slight adjustment...much better to be critical of others when you have never had to deal with said squirrel.

For god's sake, don't have children. As a parent, you'd wear pepper spray so you would have to risk hurting your 8-year old son. Get real. I pepper sprayed one person. He was a drunk in a bar fight with a bowie knife and he wouldn't drop it. I would have been ashamed to show my face on the street if I pepper sprayed an 8-year old.

For Gods sake...use your brain. You say you are a retired cop...OK...I believe you. So, Mr retired cop...what happens when you grab said out of control 8 year old by the arm he twists? What does his mom do to you and your force when you grab the wrist and leave bruises? What happens when the little kid sees a doctor because you 'caused damage'(at least according to his lawyer) to his delicate shoulders. Do you cuff him? How? Do you physically restrain him? Do you even know the kind of kid we are talking about? Its not a question of being affeared of him. Its not a question of being stronger or more capable. But you have to actually be smarter than your problem.

It is extremely easy to seriously damage children without meaning to do so.

Case in point... my ex was holding my the 8 yr old daughters hand as they walked along an ice slicked walkway. My daughter went down, and my ex's instinct was to prevent the fall, so she kept her grip on my daughters arm... and promptly dislocated her shoulder.

I have seen this on more than a few occasions in ERs and Juvenile Hall. People think that we are talking about a 'misbehaving' child. I believe they simply dont have a clue.

Hell, I wasn't much older than eight the first time I knifed someone.

So to better understand your argument apdst.

If they had "grabbed his arm and spanked his ass" instead of pepper spraying him...you wouldn't have went "ape-****" and had your "nigga side" come out then?

Does "nigga side" mean violent?

Does "nigga side" mean violent?

No clue, he stated that if a cop sprayed his kids it would cause his "nigga side" to come out, so I was asking if if the cop grabbing his kids arm and spanking him would cause the same reaction.

I would hope a parent could control thier kid without pepperspray, but if not then you should not have kids. But dont blame the cops for doing this. That is just stupid. The cops did the right thing and now everyone wants to focus on the police rather than the unruly kid who has had cops called repeatedly on him. The boy put the police in that situation. That boys parents did as well. The police responded in a way that no one was hurt. Rather than being pissed at the cops, people should be dealing with the parents. The cops were called at least twice before because of this kid. Those parents should have corrected that behavior before or at the very least after the first incident.

I dont know about you, but if my kid was waiving a board at cops he's going to get what he gets. At least to a certain extent. My son is only 6 but if he threatening officers, and acting like this and got pepper sprayed he's getting his ass whooped too. I teach my kids to respect the law, and his teachers. If he refuses to listen I dont expect the police to coddle him. I could see your point if they actually beat your kid, but to pepper spray a child who has every intention of hurting others is not out of line.

Do you mean to say your son would not have said to the cops "Come on ****ers"

How could anybody defend what this kid did, he knew what he was doing and wanted to inflict harm even on the cops, or reward it by taking him on talk shows?

Damn, first an 8 year old kid gets pepper sprayed, then a squirrel gets pepper sprayed. Who or what gets pepper sprayed next? Lucky for me, I have credentials as a Prophet, which I earned from Bubba's Night School of Prophecy, and which were given to me via the Customary Cracker Jack box reserved for such credentials. So now, I can see the future. Hang on a minute while I prophesize.....

Oh the humanity. I have just seen the next victim of police officer self defense. If you are of weak stomach, please turn away.

Here is our next victim, at 50x magnification:

Officer: I know, I know. It doesn't look that good for me, but DAMN, just look at those nasty mandibles. He looked dangerous, so I had to spray him before he attacked me and bit off a hair on my leg. I was so scared.

yeah, I miss the good old days when cops didn't have to worry about being sued or public opinion and when they encountered an asshole, being an asshole, they just beat the **** out of him and that was the end of it. they should have bum rushed this little turd and broken his ****ing arm while taking his shank away from him and then bitch slapped his retarded mother when she complained about it.

You support police brutality on citizens? What a stand up guy you must be:shock::roll::(

enraged 8 year olds can be a threat because it doesn't take but 5 lbs of pressure for a pointed object to puncture the skin... pepper spray was the best for everyone around.

You threaten the cops, you DESERVE the beating you have coming at you...

No you do not. Ask Rodney King:roll:

And you damn sure do not deserve pepper spray by two grown cops if you are 8 years old. Never.

So, you would prefer the two cops to give him a broken arm while subduing him? Pepper spray did no lasting harm to the boy. Breaking his arm???

And as for that thug Rodney King, he fully deserved the beatdown he received...

Is that some kind of Scout uniform he's wearing? Kid doesn't belong anywhere near scouts.

Because there's no evidence the children he was attacking were homosexuals ;)

I jest, I jest

Cops did the right thing here.

No disrespect towards cops but if two grown cops cannot take down a little 8 year old without using pepper spray? They do not deserve the badge. Hell even I could take down an 8 year old without having to use pepper spray and without having to break limbs or anything else.

A lot of things were in their power to do, but the goal was to not harm the child in the process.

You're basically arguing that unless cops are going to use excessive force, they shouldn't be cops.

In the escalation of force, pepper-spray is less force than open-hand techniques.

Did you take into consideration that the kid had a weapon in his hand and stated he had intentions of using it?

What would have happened if he had stabbed the cop while the cop was trying to physically subdue him?

The kid would have been charged with assault on an officer and that would have followed him his whole life.

How can you say the cops did not do the right thing here for their own safety and to protect the child from further trouble?

Kali's trying to say the cops should have shown up with a swat team and shot the kid on site.
