This aint what you think it is. You think its just a kid misbehaving. its not your kid. And to your credit, your kid wouldnt act that way.
I have a special needs kid that has two, or three episodes a year. We've never had to resort to this level of force to get her under control. This hits alot closer to home than you think it does.

Pepper Spray significantly reduces that chance on both sides.

I'm guessing if they attempted to disarm and subdue the kid and the child broke his arm, we'd have people going on about how brutal and over the top the cops were.

Its something that their office should give the regular review of to see if they acted correctly, but without getting more information showing that their judgement was poor I'd fall on the side of the Cops attempting to keep a kid from stabbing his teacher rather than going "aww the poor kid".

Wait I forgot. Cops are evil, they have everyone, they just want to **** over people, **** the cops!

Angry, you're obviously remembering the face of your father in your response
You make a very strong point, but I just dont see how it would have taken much effort to subdue the boy

It takes far less effort and causes far less harm to press a single finger on the nozzle of an OC bottle.

Yes, and at no point would I have felt the need to prove to those officers how "macho" I am.

I have 3. One is a 10 yr old with Aspergers, who on occasion can get out of hand. Had this been my kid, in the exact same situation... I'd still support the officers actions.

Now... go ahead and tell me I'm a bad parent for not wanting to kick officer ass.
