ACORN Pleads Guilty to Voter Registration Fraud in Nevada

Re: ACORN Pleads Guilty to Voter Fraud

If there is no reward at the end why try to register fake and dead voters?

If this had happened in only one or two locations it wouldn't be a big deal (unless of course the organization was affiliated with Conservatives or Republicans).

ACORN and Project Vote are doing this all over the country. They must be getting something out of it.

Closed minds...... yeah, that has to be it.

The reward was getting paid more money for more voters signed up

Is that not a simple enough concept

Re: ACORN Pleads Guilty to Voter Fraud

Dude, I did voter registration for a couple of days maybe 25 years ago, and turning in fake registrations was going on then. Hell, one of the reasons i quit was I wouldn't do it. I was getting **** over low numbers as a result, and I've never been a tattletail so there was no other option.

Any time canvassers are paid by the registration this occurs. Mechanisms are in place to prevent paying people for fake registrations as well as save the registrar resources.

Maybe back then there was a legitimate possibility of election tampering through fake registrations.

But the difficulty of obtaining the necessary ID, as well as computerised verification processes are making this a vanishing possibility.

As much noise as has been made by both sides on this issue you would think this was an actual issue.

But actual cases of actually cast fraudulent votes are rare at best. It simply isn't practical.

Tampering with electronic voting machines would apparently be FAR easier.

Carry on.

That's all well and good. I realize that voter fraud and false regestrations have been going on for years.

ACORN and Project Vote have bee caught doing this in virtually every state. This is an organized nationwide effort.

Nobody at a polling station is going to see these fake voters. They are voting by absentee ballots.

I know what the reward for the individuals working for ACORN and PV is. Money of course.

What is the reward for ACORN and Project Vote?

How many absentee ballots are being sent out to fake voters?

Moderator's Warning:
If you see something is a violation of the rules the correct action is to REPORT IT. Attempting to derail a thread by harping on it repeatedly is trolling and is just as against the rules as the name violation. If you see a rules violation either report it or ignore it; complaining about it in thread isn't an option I would advise.

The personal attacks being thrown around need to cease and people need to get on topic.

Thread title changed

Re: ACORN Pleads Guilty to Voter Fraud

Now THIS is irony.

The headline reads "voter registration fraud" but then the actual text says "violation of election law."

But "offered employees compensation for number of registrations" doesn't sound as bad as "voter registration fraud." Similarly, "voter fraud" is even worse sounding, hence the OP's straight up lie.

Finally, I love the blurb at the end about the pimp scandal that doesnt bother to mention that scandal was based on edited video and was not at all representative of what actually happened.

****ing Fox. So typical.

So the OP should have corrected the article in its entirety? Derail threads much?

Re: ACORN Pleads Guilty to Voter Fraud

I believe there needs to be a Federal Law that requires all voters show a picture ID to register and then to vote.

In California you can register on line and vote by mail and never have to prove a damn thing.

California I believe has serious voter fraud with thousands of illegals voting in every election and they can't read or write or even speak English.

Re: ACORN Pleads Guilty to Voter Fraud

So, let me see if I have the facts here correct.

A few employees of an organization that is responsible for registering voters were being paid in a manner that is legal in many states, but not legal in Nevada. Those same employees chose, of their own volition, to fake paperwork to trick that organization into paying them more money. These employees were found out by the organization and reported, and the fake registrations were annulled so that no fake votes could be cast. And no fake votes were cast. The employees were brought to justice, and the organization they worked for has correctly decided not to clog the legal system in trying to pretend that they didn't employ this unorthodox payment tactic, and are justly paying for it in Nevada. This same payment style is legal in many other states and apparently works just fine there.

Why is the outrage directed at ACORN as a whole, and not at the specific people who broke the law? I thought people being responsible for their own actions was a major tenant of conservativism and libertarianism.

:applaud:2bow: I almost spoke up. All I had to do was hit the thank button. Now I can relax. :)

ask the 43 democrat senators and 180 members of pelosi's caucus who voted to d-e-f-u-n-d

Because they are not part of this conversation. If you want to be part of it, why not actually try and address his comments yourself?

Re: ACORN Pleads Guilty to Voter Fraud

the congress which d-e-f-u-n-d-e-d the COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS is not part of a discussion about the FRAUDULENT behavior of the COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS?

LOL!

sorry, but reality trumps the virtual world

Which one of them is posting here? If none, then no, they are not taking part in the conversation. You however are. So why not man up and state your position? WHy the constant insistence in hiding behind others?

Re: ACORN Pleads Guilty to Voter Fraud

the SEVENTY PERCENT of the party which voted to DEFUND the fraudulent COMMUNNITY ORGANIZERS speak very well for little old me

Why do you support defunding them? Come on, take a stance instead of blaming others.

Re: ACORN Pleads Guilty to Voter Fraud

What's the point of voter registration fraud? Why register "Mickey Mouse" to vote? What's in it for you?

No tax on cheese, of course. Now all I need is to register skid row bums in the Bowery to eliminate the tax on wine, although they will probably want Aqua Velva included in that too.

There is a major difference. Micky Mouse was never going to show up to vote. As has been explained many times on this issue, those who were doing the registering got paid per name, so they made up names. But none of those people have been shown to have even tried to vote. So in terms of the election, this meant nothing. I never understand why people continue to pretend this is something it isn't. Could it be a dishonest attempt to discredit something more than is just?

How about massive voter registration fraud and "advising" clients how to falsify documents to open a prostitution house.

Is that enough of a reason to at least stop giving ACORN taxpayer money?

Re: ACORN Pleads Guilty to Voter Fraud

A better reason would be the fact that ACORN does not exist.

You would have to prove that silliness was systematic and not the fault of one single person or location.

As for the future, I think the post above is correct. There is no ACORN anymore.

blaming?

LOL!

beaver cleaver would probably just say "being mean"

my reasons are the same as the seventy percent of dems and 100% of republicans in congress

it's pretty obvious

why do some of our forums members more prone to personalities sometimes beg the opinions of people they don't like or respect?

that's most unpleasant, if not downright weird

carry on

Not hard to do just Google Acorn and voter (registration) fraud and look at the number of states they have done this in Wa, Mi, Mo, Wi to name a few
