Newt Gingrich warns U.S. at risk of atheism and radical Islam

Is Dave Chappelle Muslim?

Yes he is a muslim
Chappelle is a Muslim, having converted to Islam in 1998. He told Time Magazine in a May 2005 interview, "I don’t normally talk about my religion publicly because I don’t want people to associate me and my flaws with this beautiful thing. And I believe it is beautiful if you learn it the right way

I didn't know that about Dave, but I have met his mom. I have so much respect for his mom. She was a college professor, and she is very intelligent and nice.

Hey, that's pretty cool:thumbs:

Athiests don't worry me, believers of Islam do.

Really? I served with a couple muslims. Good folks, just don't make the mistake of having them over for dinner and serve pork chops(yes, I did this, all in ignorance).

Bite your freakin' tongue!!!

You mean Dave Chappelle is a Muslim? When did this happen? Have you seen his shows? No Muslin would dare speak the way he does. But you gotta love his brand of comedy - RAW and honest to a fault.

Yeah, i'm not sure if muslins have a sense of humor

I guess he's a fake Muslim the same way Dan is a fake Republican/Independent lol

Hey, Captain Courtesy...

Could you repost that list of conservative words Newt suggested all Republicans should use again? I want to know if "secular" was among the list.

Ummm... I never posted a list like that.

As America has become more secularized, divorce has skyrocketed, unwed motherhood has skyrocketed, addictions of all natures have skyrocketed, personal irresponsibility in general has skyrocketed.

In fact, I believe the shrinking of the middle class in America can be directly attributed to the breakdown of family values.

Religion is the opiate of the masses, and this post is a fine example. Yes, you ignorant middle classes, just take another hit off the religion pipe. Be soothed and realize that the reason your portion of the vast wealth being generated by this economy is shrinking is magically fixable. That the reason the rich are still getting richer, but you are getting poorer is because you're not Christian enough. Fight for christian values, and your place will be restored among the prosperous.

Pay no attention to those who say that the wealthy have made the economic system more and more skewed toward their advantage. Those who make such claims are the ungodly, who deny that god rewards the godly.

I think I have it just about right.

Take another hit off of the religion pipe.

That was not CC, that was me. I am really offended right now.

Newt Gingritch said:
As you know, one of the key points in the GOPAC tapes is that "language matters." In the video "We Are a Majority," Langauage is listed as akey mechanism of control used by a majority party, along with Agenda, Rules, Attitude and Learning. As the tapes have been used in training sessions across the country and mailed to candidates, we have heard a plaintive plea: "I wish I could speak like Newt."...

Apply these to the opponent, their record, proposals and their party.

decay... failure (fail)... collapse(ing)... deeper... crisis... urgent(cy)... destructive... destroy... sick... pathetic... lie... liberal... they/them... unionized bureaucracy... "compassion" is not enough... betray... consequences... limit(s)... shallow... traitors... sensationalists...

endanger... coercion... hypocrisy... radical... threaten... devour... waste... corruption... incompetent... permissive attitudes... destructive... impose... self-serving... greed... ideological... insecure... anti-(issue): flag, family, child, jobs... pessimistic... excuses... intolerant...

stagnation... welfare... corrupt... selfish... insensitive... status quo... mandate(s)... taxes... spend(ing)... shame... disgrace... punish (poor...)... bizarre... cynicism... cheat... steal... abuse of power... machine... bosses... obsolete... criminal rights... red tape... patronage

Use the list below to help define your campaign and your vision of public service. These words can help give extra power to your message. In addition, these words help develop the positive side of the contrast you should create with your opponent, giving your community something to vote for!

share... change... opportunity... legacy... challenge... control... truth... moral... courage... reform... prosperity... crusade... movement... children... family... debate... compete... active(ly)... we/us/our... candid(ly)... humane... pristine... provide...

liberty... commitment... principle(d)... unique... duty... precious... premise... care(ing)... tough... listen... learn... help... lead... vision... success... empower(ment)... citizen... activist... mobilize... conflict... light... dream... freedom...

peace... rights... pioneer... proud/pride... building... preserve... pro-(issue): flag, children, environment... reform... workfare... eliminate good-time in prison... strength... choice/choose... fair... protect... confident... incentive... hard work... initiative... common sense... passionate

For real? LOL Now, that is funny!

Oh...and my bad on the Newt conservative lingo list. But thanks for reposting it though Redress.

Hmmmm...no...secular didn't make the list. Guess Newt needs to add a new word to bolster the Conservative message of fear.

Is there really anyone out there that actually takes Newt Gingrich serious?

Marx was wrong about a lot of things, but about the use of religion by the elite to pacify and distract the masses, he was not. I believe, quite strongly, in a mixed, but market dominated economy. At every turn conservatives are attempting to get people to accept the decline of the middle classes, despite the fact that we are more productive than ever. They used to argue that they were trying to save the middle class, through helping the wealthy. Well, we've been helping the wealthy for at least thirty years. It is obvious that the wealthy are doing exceedingly well, but the middle classes? Not so much.

Now that this is becoming obvious, they must find new arguments. They are trying to get us to accept the condition of things through moralistic philosophies supporting, on the one hand libertarianism, and on the other social conservatism. It is their new shift in tactics, and people like Erod are buying into it.

There is no reason to accept the market economy as it is currently structured, and I intend to vigorously say so, when I have the time to do it.

When Marx said that religion is the opiate of the masses, I find that statement to indeed contain a very, very tiny grain of truth. HOWEVER. I fail to see how religion plays a part in the decline of the middle class and how it benefits the wealthy in American society today.

Some of the Godly are doing quite well, those that have their own TV shows where they are constantly asking for money, then those who want to be Godly send the money in......
Not sure that is authentic Godliness, tho....

What is it about good people of faith that bothers you more than those without faith?

Not all atheists are intolerant, just a few bad apples.

Not stupid at all unless of course yoru a liberal :)

Yes, it is stupid. I know many Christian liberals who are liberals because of how they live out their Christian beliefs.

Religion has played a part, often, in getting shortchanged people to accept the condition of things, or as a distraction to the trend of things. It can play a part in the continuing decline of the middle classes by getting those classes to either accept things or be distracted from the true cause of their condition. It would benefit the wealthy by helping them to keep things on the path they are currently on.

I am not blaming religion for where we are at right now. I am arguing against starting to use it to keep us on the present path.

It would be kinda cool if we could appeal to people's loftier aspects, like compassion, courage, or hope... instead of fear and bigotry. Kinda makes me wonder what these republican leaders actually think of their voter base if the only way they think they can appeal to them is by making them afraid of boogeymen.

Glenn Beck does that , plus, faith, charity, honor, enlightenment etc.
He's called a crazy fear monger.
