I said the unions were approaching it wrong and threatening business is wrong...and I also said Scott walker started this whole situation from the beginning.
He could have went about it altogether different and still get what he wanted and I stand by that statement.
It doesnt help to whine that your state is broke and the first thing you do is give a large corporate tax cut and the second thing you do is blame the workers for your financial woes...One thing he should have done is NOT give the tax cut until he got the concessions from the union.. and used the same Rhetoric as Christie has and did the town hall meetings like christie has. Scott Walker did it wrong out of the gate and added alot of this chaos, he wanted to make a big splash

I'm not following what you are saying about christie...

If Wisconson did not give tax breaks to business, Minnesota, iowa, and michigan would.

Walker couldn't wait to get concessions from the union. He had a deficit in the current fiscal period that he had to close. That deficit was not made worse by the business tax cuts (which do not take effect until the next fiscal period).

On average Public employees represent well over 30% of a state's budget. Due to public sector unions in WI, I would expect they are well above the average. In other words, to tackle the deficit, WI has to tackle public employee compensation - which is such a large percentage of their overall budget. Just like to tackle the fed's deficit, they have to address military spending and entitlement spending.

There are stories on WI radio of business owners trying to stay neutral, but since the won't place the letter in their window they are being boycotted and protestors are in front of their place.

I think this has a large potential to back fire on the unions and erode some of the support they have. It doesn't seem people take too kindly to brutish behavior and this activity easily draws comparisons to the mob asking for protection money to ensure no one burns down the business.
That is the way things are done in a capitalist system. Why should they support businesses who are against them? I can see how bent-over sheeple might see this as "brutish" behavior. Oh the shame!!!

Grab your ankles lads!! You have forgot about all the people & businesses you boycotted. ie. Fonda, French, etc.

Wish I was in Wi about now. I'd boycott all the businesses that cave to the Union and support those who are being boycotted.

Im saying christie told the unions and the public that along with cost controls he was trying to save their pensions for the future...he did not attack collective bargaining and hes had town hall after town hall explaining his reasoning and he didnt attack the public workers as soon as he got elected..he did alot of other things first...Christie did it right...Walker did it all wrong imho

If the threat of a boycott is now equal to thuggery, we've dropped a long way into pantywaistdom.

Agreed. This is what people do in a capitalist state. When businesses work against your interests, you boycott them...

What does boycotting small businesses have to do with public unions? It's basically saying "pay for our salaries, pensions, and benefits, or else!"

Hopefully, soon the union will be dead and gone, and we can all laugh over a beer.
