I don't agree with the intervention, but to deny that Obama had approval means someone wasn't paying attention

Not to mention the UN resolution EXPLICITLY authorized the use of force.

Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

For those who still disagree with Pres. Obama's decision to get involved in Libya, I urge you to watch this interview on Meet the Press from yesterday (4/3/11) between David Gregory and Mike Rogers (R-MI), Chairman, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. It may change your opinion on the matter especially coming from a Republican Intelligence Chairman w/military experience.

There are also other Republican commentators from yesterday's MTP segment who also agree with the President's actions.

    You're wrong here.

Pres. Obama had 3 U.N. resolutions...

    U.N. Resolution 1971 (2011) - imposes no-fly zone

U.N. Resolution 1973 (2011) - strengthens arms embargo already in force under UNR 1970
