I agree, the problem with little kids dressing like adults is in the hands of the parents. They need to put their foot down and not just go along with crowd.
Still, push up padded bikini's for children is borderline child porn in my opinion.
You should have seen the face of my girlfriends cousin when I told her she can't wear make-up before she is 16. She had a cow.

I told her make-up is only to attract attention of the opposite sex and she didn't want that before she was 16. Her single mother agrees but can't control what she does so now at almost 15 she is wearing make-up every day, and I mean a lot of it.

The guys need to be taught that too, but I think it is more important with girls. Girls make the decisions where sex is concerned and they take home the consequence. You would be surprised how simple this rule makes things for kids, if they follow it.

Girls are taught to look pretty and be cute but very little is put into intelligence and values.

For example, every time I was at my ex-girlfriends house, she had a lot of nieces, the girls would come through the door and they would only be told how cute they were. Nobody ever asked how they were doing in school or ask them if they needed any help.

Again. It is NOT Abercrombie's fault. They were complicit because there was money to be made. That is what a business does. If you don't like it. Don't try to blame them but find something that would match with what you agree.
So should the guys who run guns into Africa get a pass because they "just doing business". Selling products specifically designed to sexualize children is wrong and any corporation who chooses to do should be treated with contempt. You you accept money if someone paid you to design a slutty dress for 5 year olds?

That is so sad. Did you at least ask them that?

Those girls are going to grow up looking for bad boys....

No matter where the family lives the parents are responsible to teach their kids values.

If the girl isn't taught the golden rule about life, she will turn out bad.
I went to an inner city school for a little bit, and it was a rough school. There is an entirely differently culture in inner city schools, as opposed to private and good suburban schools. A lot of it is the parenting... I saw a lot of pregnant teens in that school and there was fairly large student population with HIV, considering that didn't exist in any other school I went to.

Interesting times. It's nice there are still some who object to this kind of stuff.
I know a 10 yr old (4th grade) she already needs, and wears a bra to school and out in public. Her mom is pretty careful about the way she lets her dress. Wish more were like her.

Abercrombie is still responsible for making money on people sexualizing children, and that isn't socially responsible IMO... Some businesses like Walmart wouldn't sell Wu Tang cds because they were "offensive." Other businesses will sell anything...

Hopefully she'll learn soon that too much make-up is less attractive than no make-up at all. Perhaps someone should show her that a little mascara and maybe some blush is enough for her age.

I told her that a woman that wears a lot of make-up knows she is ugly and she is trying to hide it. Her mother made a weird face at that one, yes she cakes it on as well.

I don't see her as one of those boy crazy girls but she is developing a body that is going to get a lot of attention, I am just not sure she will be able to handle it.

Do you think a single mother has a better chance to control the daughter or a strong father figure?

It is well known, the boy wants to please the mother while the girl strives to please the father. She doesn't want to let him down. If he is not there, she is more likely to go wild, looking for a male influence to take care of her.

It is not that hard to understand.
I didn't strive to please my father... I made my dad angry a lot in fact.
