    • Naomi Klein calling out in a column in The Nation for Muqtada al-Sadr's killing fields to come to New York

    • Tom Hayden reaching the next stage of his totalitarian high by meeting Klein's hero, al-Sadr, in London

    • British Member of Parliament George Galloway visiting Syria in November 2005, prostrating himself before its despot and giving a speech at Damascus University in which he denounced America and Israel and extended his support to every possible enemy of the United States – from the terrorists in Iraq to Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez.

    • Code Pink along with SDS founder Bernadine Dohrn supporting the Gaza Flotilla

    • Barack Obama inviting the Muslim Brotherhood to attend his Cairo visit and lending support to protestors in Egypt while he ignored those in Iran.

    Why?
It would be equally as undignified and "hacky" to counter this with a comparable list of "rightists" who have engaged with tyrants around the World but I think it is worth pointing out that it was some of those do-gooding lefties at Amnesty who brought this to the attention of the do-gooding leftists at the BBC who ran the story linked to in the OP.

    Absolutely disgusting as usual, Erod.
    One bad thing? LOL

Just about every real problem in the world is caused by this region and these miscreants. They're evolving at the pace of your average cockroach.

But you keep defending them. Perhaps you can help out with these virginity tests, and stone a few women in the streets for good measure.

I know your type. The middle east didn't even exist to you until your holy GOP leaders told you to care, and told you who the new enemies were. You probably couldn't even find Egypt on a map (and maybe you still can't).

There are plenty of valid critiques of certain middle eastern countries and I am a proponent of many of them. That I don't see the world in black and white terms as you do is rather pleasing to me. You are a woefully misguided soul when it comes to politics, I'm afraid, and a tiresome little creature to boot.

Yes. when liberals say you shouldn't paint 1.4 billion with the actions of a few asshole dictators and their henchmen, clearly liberals are defending every action taken by every Muslim, including terrorism!!!

*sigh* Time and time again I'm reminded that absolutism is a core pillar of the conservative mind.

    It better not in Egypt.

Re: Egypt women protesters forced to take 'virginity tests'

Of course that "virginity tests" are a horrible thing but this is minor in comparison to the kind of atrocities that are commited all through the middle east. It's an entirely diiferent culture and way of thinking in the middle east and im talking about the most poverty stricken parts. I once saw a man kill his little sister over a pop tart in Baghdad. However, her death was probably not intended, he did strike her with the rock. Now i have got many other examples that I'd rather not use but my point is this: That part of the wolrd is primal at best. Now the oil rich places like Saudi Arabia are not as bad but theres alot of behind the scenes action that isn't seen. Do I think we should do something about it? No, we need to become energy independent so we can get out of the part of the world ENTIRELY!

How unfortunate. These are the events that make me worry about the final outcome of our efforts in the greater middle east.

We should do the more long-run efficient method; acquire them.
