Massive new oil slick spotted in the Gulf of Mexico

You are aware the nuclear radiation will dissapate. Yes?

Of course, the damage it causes to your health when you consume food that has been contaminated by nuclear radiation or spilled oil does not dissapate or bio degrade.

It's easy to talk about it when it isn't your back yard, but I gurantee you aren't jumping at the chance to have a Mark I nuclear reactor built down the street from your house just because you electric bill would go down.

Ok...and?..................

How are the whaler jobs doing these days?

Not too good, since a better product dominated the market.

So, tell us, how did the government effect that transition?

Ah, ok...weeeeelllll, if half that bull**** were true, we would all be dead by now.

What bull****? Burning oil hurts air quality tremendously, just look at Mexico City, or LA before they started cracking down on it. And oil spills are just bad news for our oceans, and animal life.

Right! We're all doomed. I hear ya.

When did I ever say we are doomed? It won't kill our species, but it will cause serious health problems.

LOL...for real?

Yes. For real.

Oil Clean Up - Oil cleanup workers report illness - Los Angeles Times

On a related note, given that you're from the Gulf Coast I assume you know the impact that the oil spill had on the fishing industry and livelihoods of people who rely on the marine environment in that region to survive? Liberals aren't saying we should shut down and get rid of the oil and gas industry. Liberals ARE saying those activities carry risks and private entities need to be held accountable when they are lax in preventing something like this from happening.

As for air quality, just ask people from Los Angeles or Beijing how much they love breathing smog.

What about environmentalist types who are still wholly in support of vastly increasing our nuclear power generation?

I'm sure they've all be locked inside a cave somewhere, but there's only two of them anyway right?
