there does appear to be a cohort who would want to pretend these onerous actions did not occur
who would pretend that such evil will not cause a negative perspective of our nation's efforts to be realized by those indigenous to the locations where such uncivilized behavior is being perpetrated in the name of the USA

Lets hope Afghans are intelligent enough to know that what this band of rogue soldiers did was wrong and they will face severe consequences at the hands of the US judicial system.

I partially agree. Most of what nations do is determined by the aristocracy and those in power. They are also the ones who write the history books. If you look at the history of common people who are just trying to live their lives, I think humans on the whole are quite peaceful and prosperous. It's greed and selfish fears that cause governments to lead entire nations into savagery.

I just don't like it when people use nature to excuse bad choices and the negative aspects of culture, especially when most people just get dragged into the conflicts by people who don't know how to govern their own behaviours.

If this is just about taking pics of dead people, it's a gigantic waste of time and money. If it's about illegal killings, then it should be investigated and the prepetrators prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and given the death penalty for their crimes.

Do you deny that taking trophy pictures of those killed cast a bad light on the Military personels? It's a waste of money to prosecute those who gives the Military a bad name through their actions which probably violate the Military code in some way? That kind of permissive thinking leads to shoddy discipline.

I guess 24 years for a whistle blower is deemed enough. Wonder if all conspiritors will/have get caught in the case of Jeremy Morlock. Don't know if this ties into the picture case or not though.

Possibly, but it's not illegal, nor is it a violation of military regulations. I took pics of dead mother****ers during Desert Storm.

In a word, yes. Primarily, because by taking pics of dead mother****ers, they didn't break any rules.

Are you speaking from personal experience, or just Liberal wrong headedness?

Here is a good New York Times article on the situation.
