Another step for the US would be rocket attacks from fighter planes on artillary and tanks. US fighter planes have infra red sensors that can detect barrels of guns that have been fired in the last few hours, at night. Hiding or camaflauging tanks with hot barrels did not work in the first gulf war.

Kudos to Obama for being patient, reading the situation brilliantly, and only committing to limited U.S. involvement.
    Kudos? Being patient? Brilliant?

0bama has sat on his hands for weeks while Gaddafi slaughtered thousands. His tanks are on the doorstep of Benghazi.

I seriously doubt the Libyan people think 0bama's dithering has been patient or brilliant.

If this is the right decision today then it was the right decision weeks ago when the rebels controlled most of Libya.
The national security of the United States can never be left in the hands of liberals.

Those who are engaged in the civil war in Libya wish the slaughter to stop then may I suggest that the losing side surrender, this is how wars are won for better or worse.
Did you actually read up on anything before you posted this idiocy? The intervention is required to stop Gaddafi killing thousands of people in the event he forces them to surrender. I know the word "humanitarian" may be a dirty word to you, but there it is.

It is interesting to watch America all in a tizzy over this one. The crude anti Obamism leads to a lot of confusing positions. The Right can't decide whether they are super interventionist or super isolationist. Similarly they can't decide if Obama is weak leaving it to Europe to lead or whether to present it as a 99% US effort (the cheese eating surrender monkeys were attacking Gaddafis troops before the air defense systems were disabled).

What emerges is a wholly unprincipled America, grubbing about trying to find a populist position to suit their domestic agenda. Obamas dilly dallying has been similarly disgraceful, when earlier intervention would probably have resulted in Gaddafi bring overthrown by people who presently support him.

True, France's new virility is driven somewhat by a looming election and Sarkos dreadful poll ratings. Their recent support for dictators in Tunisia and Bahrain is not forgotten. And Britain is keen to draw a line under a period of appeasing Gaddafi.

The one hope in all thus is that the Libyan people, with just the right amount of support from the international community, will overthrow tyranny and prevail. A secular Islamic region of the world with democracy, integrating with Europe in trade, and kicking out it's mullahs, monarchs and thugs, would be in everyone's interests.

Personally I usually watch CNN, al Jazeera and BBC for international news. I understand and discount the bias. Fox news is too singularly focused for my taste, it seems they can only do one news story at a time. You liberals who discount Fox News out of hand aren't doing yourself any favors though. An open mind is a beautiful thing.

Would you mind posting a source for your comment? If it's true, that is very good news. Death from above seems to be Obama's preference. Unmanned drones. Doesn't make him any friends in the Middle East but there you go.

I pray our military isn't dragged into another theater. Especially on the ground.

    .
Fox seems to give more factual details in their stories. It has not been difficult for me to understand the bias of their presentation, and so far, I feel I have been able to form my own opinions.

'Sitting on his hands', I suppose if you believe the Fox News narrative/spin. The black man in the white house can do nothing right.

Reality: It is because of his administration, their maneuvering with the UN, that we are able to do something now.... Do you know anything about International Relations? This is not a Rambo action movie.

Really, so just like in the movies, Rambo just shows up when there's trouble. Because there are no other real world diplomatic considerations.

'Dithering' that's Sarah Palin's word, right? The most unqualified person to talk about a conflict on the African Continent. Which she thought was a country.

If this is the right decision today then it was the right decision weeks ago when the rebels controlled most of Libya.
Again, this is real life. You and Sarah watch too many movies.

Do you realize the irony of such a pompous and arrogant post filled with insults left and right about individuals intelligence and gulliability that simultaneously includes a fictional and proven false statement as if its fact despite you having had that pointed out to you a number of times before?

If people wish to send out kudos for taking action strangely enough go to the Europeans who seemed to be the ones actually spurring the U.S. to do something other than give a dispassionate wave of the finger towards Gaddafi.

Your cynicism knows no bounds. For as sensationalist as Fox News is, "The black man in the white house can do nothing right" is pure crap. Only "victimized" liberals (the sort who collectivize on DemocraticUnderground) could believe that nonsense.

Nonsense. And you can stuff your racism.

0bama waited for political cover from the UN. We could have acted anytime.
