Now that there is international consensus, I suspect we'll do something as well. We've already placed some naval vessels in the area, including (IIRC) an aircraft carrier.

We don't need to be involved in this, they can handle it.

Oh wait, tha'ts right, we did nothing and said little waiting for others to tell us what to do.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

Do something.... even if it's wrong? Sounds like the UN we all know and love.

What happened to those in the good ole USA that have been saying the USA should keep its nose the hell out of others peoples business.

Also, why is everyone so eager to help the people that cheered so loudly when Abdelbeset Ali Mohmed al Megrahi was returned to Libya?

so who will defend Canada's airspace now
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

We played this exactly how we should have. Let others take the lead. I am extremely happy with this.
You can never be safe from a government that can keep you completely safe from each other and the world. You must choose.
